Electronic health record systems are adapted in a good deal of health care facility to improve the quality of patient care which is maintained electronically. Developing a disease prediction model for health care system can help us to overcome the problem of medical distress. In this study, we suggest ensemble technology and statistical methods to search through massive amounts of information, analyzing it to predict outcomes for individual patients. Using Weka tool, breast-cancer and diabetes medical datasets have experimented with ensemble classifier.

Background: As a part of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” campaign, the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt. of India had launched “Kayakalp” in 2015, an initiative to promote cleanliness and enhance the quality of public health facilities. Our aim was to study the situational analysis of the health institution using Kayakalp tool; to assess the level of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in the facility and to assess the status of Bio-medical waste management in the health care facility and to suggest remedial measures based on the study finding. Methods: It is a hospital based snapshot study done during a period of one year from April 2016 to March 2017. Kayakalp assessment tool was used for analysis. Results: The total scores for upkeep maintenance obtained in 2016-17 was 69 and for the year 2017-18 was 81. There was an increase of total score in the year 2017-18 and it was found to be statistically significant. On assessment in the year 2016-17, for BMW the total score obtained was 58 and in the year 2017-18 it was 81. There was a statistically significant increase in the scores (p=0.001) obtained in the year (2017-18).Conclusions: Improvements in Biomedical waste management can be made by increasing the knowledge, awareness and practices of the health care providers as well as the beneficiaries with regular periodic monitoring.

ABSTRACT  Development in the health field today in addition to aiming for healing and recovery also to improve health and prevent the incidence of a disease in the community. The hospital is a place to provide health services for the community. The quality of health services can be seen from several perspectives: the perspective of the health care provider, the perspectives of the funder, the perspective of the owner of the health care facility and the patient's perspective. While patient satisfaction is the level of satisfaction experienced by patients after using health services. Quality of health services and customer satisfaction are the indicators of hospital service success. The purpose of this study was to know the description of patient satisfaction of referral of outpatient at District Hospital, Regional Hospital and Provincial Hospital. The study was conducted with cross sectional design, using questionnaire instrument. The respondent is an outpatient at the hospital who has finished receiving the service or finished treatment at the hospital, where if the patient age ≤ 15 years or difficult to communicate there must be a companion. Data retrieval is done by direct interviews to the patient or the patient's companion. The result of the research shows the description of satisfaction respondent/outpatient exit interview in the hospital that overall more than 80% of respondents /outpatient satisfied to service given in the hospital. Respondents/outpatients who work more satisfied than those who do not work, and non-PBI participants are more satisfied than the PBI participants. The conclusions of this study, most of the respondents / outpatients in hospitals are satisfied with the services provided by the hospital.   Keywords: outpatient perception, service quality, hospital

Designing a hospital means making a study of all the influencing parameters of the form and functional organisation. The thoroughness of this process will determine the quality of the design itself. This article containes a distilation of such a process. By making such a study I hoped to come to a valid conclusion design different from the health – factories that are normally implanted in developing countries. This, by taking in account not only the health care facility on itself -with which we are quite familiar – but also the specific human values of the indegenious population.

Background: The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) of Nigeria was designed to eliminate known cultural, physical, and resource-related barriers to quality health-care access. Although choice of primary health-care facility (PHF) remains in the domain of the scheme enrollees, little is known about factors influencing their choice. Hence, the study of the perception of factors influencing PHF choice among NHIS enrollees of a northwest Nigerian hospital becomes imperative. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 284 principal enrollees randomly selected from patients attending the NHIS clinic of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, Nigeria, using a designed, pretested, investigator-administered questionnaire. Their sociodemographics and factors influencing their choice of the clinic were assessed. Results: Respondents’ mean age was 40.9 ± 9.0 years and they were predominantly males (83.1%) with tertiary education. Median distance between their homes and PHF was 7.6 ± 12.5 km. Most respondents were aware of other accredited PHFs in the city and believed it was their right to choose a PHF. Among the various factors influencing their choice of index PHF were better functioning equipment (83.5% of respondents), more specialists/trained health workers (78.5%), ease in receiving specialist care (69.4%), and better overall quality of care (78.9%). Conclusion: There are multiple factors associated with enrollee choice of PHF in this study. The NHIS enrollees value the presence of functioning equipment/facilities, ease in receiving specialist care, and overall high quality of care in their choice of PHF. Improving enrollee enrollment at accredited PHF may require addressing these factors.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected the community at large. It has affected almost everyone and every aspect of social, economic and educational activities. Training in reproductive medicine has not been spared, as training in this field requires a combination of clinical interaction with patients, procedural experience, constant discussions and the element of research. The changes to numbers of new infections or active cases dictate the restrictions placed on the community and health care services alike. At the beginning of the pandemic, both the patients’ fear of going to a health care facility and movement restrictions had caused a significant reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia’s recommendation to withhold all non-essential medical services, including those related to reproductive medicine, falls under this category. Therefore, it could negatively impact the quality of training and lead to an extension of training duration in reproductive medicine. Thus, the procedural experience could be supplemented with simulator training, teleconsultation could replace standard clinic sessions and online meeting platforms could replace routine academic meetings. Any modifications must be adaptable or flexible, as similar infectious pandemics and restrictions could recur from time to time.

Wellness assessment refers to the evaluation of physical, mental, and social well-being. This work explores the possibility of applying technological tools to assist clinicians and professionals to improve the quality of life of people through continuous monitoring of their wellness. The contribution of this paper is manifold: a coarse-grained localization system is responsible for monitoring and collecting data related to patients, while a novel wellness assessment methodology is proposed to extract quantitative indicators related to the well-being of patients from the collected data. The proposed system has been installed at “Il Paese Ritrovato", an innovative health-care facility for Alzheimer’s in Monza, Italy; first satisfactory results have been obtained, and the dataset shows great potential for several applications.
