Heart disease is one of the most widely spreading and deadliest diseases across the world. In this study, we have proposed hybrid model for heart disease prediction by employing random forest and support vector machine. With random forest, iterative feature elimination is carried out to select heart disease features that improves predictive outcome of support vector machine for heart disease prediction. Experiment is conducted on the proposed model using test set and the experimental result evidently appears to prove that the performance of the proposed hybrid model is better as compared to an individual random forest and support vector machine. Overall, we have developed more accurate and computationally efficient model for heart disease prediction with accuracy of 98.3%. Moreover, experiment is conducted to analyze the effect of regularization parameter (C) and gamma on the performance of support vector machine. The experimental result evidently reveals that support vector machine is very sensitive to C and gamma.

A Quick and precise crop leaf disease detection is important to increasing agricultural yield in a sustainable manner. We present a comprehensive overview of recent research in the field of crop leaf disease prediction using image processing (IP), machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques in this paper. Using these techniques, crop leaf disease prediction made it possible to get notable accuracies. This article presents a survey of research papers that presented the various methodologies, analyzes them in terms of the dataset, number of images, number of classes, algorithms used, convolutional neural networks (CNN) models employed, and overall performance achieved. Then, suggestions are prepared on the most appropriate algorithms to deploy in standard, mobile/embedded systems, Drones, Robots and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). We discussed the performance measures used and listed some of the limitations and future works that requires to be focus on, to extend real time automated crop leaf disease detection system.

Protein biomarkers have been identified across many age-related morbidities. However, characterising epigenetic influences could further inform disease predictions. Here, we leverage epigenome-wide data to study links between the DNAm signatures of the circulating proteome and incident diseases. Using data from four cohorts, we trained and tested epigenetic scores (EpiScores) for 953 plasma proteins, identifying 109 scores that explained between 1% and 58% of the variance in protein levels after adjusting for known protein quantitative trait loci (pQTL) genetic effects. By projecting these EpiScores into an independent sample, (Generation Scotland; n=9,537) and relating them to incident morbidities over a follow-up of 14 years, we uncovered 137 EpiScore – disease associations. These associations were largely independent of immune cell proportions, common lifestyle and health factors and biological aging. Notably, we found that our diabetes-associated EpiScores highlighted previous top biomarker associations from proteome-wide assessments of diabetes. These EpiScores for protein levels can therefore be a valuable resource for disease prediction and risk stratification.

Many studies have clarified that microRNAs (miRNAs) are associated with many human diseases. Therefore, it is essential to predict potential miRNA-disease associations for disease pathogenesis and treatment. Numerous machine learning and deep learning approaches have been adopted to this problem. In this paper, we propose a Neural Inductive Matrix completion-based method with Graph Autoencoders (GAE) and Self-Attention mechanism for miRNA-disease associations prediction (NIMGSA). Some of the previous works based on matrix completion ignore the importance of label propagation procedure for inferring miRNA-disease associations, while others cannot integrate matrix completion and label propagation effectively. Varying from previous studies, NIMGSA unifies inductive matrix completion and label propagation via neural network architecture, through the collaborative training of two graph autoencoders. This neural inductive matrix completion-based method is also an implementation of self-attention mechanism for miRNA-disease associations prediction. This end-to-end framework can strengthen the robustness and preciseness of both matrix completion and label propagation. Cross validations indicate that NIMGSA outperforms current miRNA-disease prediction methods. Case studies demonstrate that NIMGSA is competent in detecting potential miRNA-disease associations.
