With increasing availability of low-cost video editing softwares and tools, the authenticity of digital video can no longer be trusted. Active video tampering detection technique utilize digital signature or digital watermark for the video tampering detection, but when the videos do not include such signature then it is very challenging to detect tampering in such video. To detect tampering in such video, passive video tampering detection techniques are required. In this chapter we have explained passive video tampering detection by using noise features. When video is captured with camera it passes through a Camera processing pipeline and this introduces noise in the video. Noise changes abruptly from authentic to forged frame blocks and provides a clue for video tampering detection. For extracting the noise we have considered different techniques like denoising algorithms, wavelet based denoising filter, and neighbor prediction.

An all-fiber acousto-optic frequency shifter (AOFS) based on an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) cascaded with a packaged tapered fiber (TF)-coupled microsphere was proposed and demonstrated in both theory and experiment. The configuration has the advantages of easy alignment, robustness, compact size, and low cost, which will improve its further application, such as in the optical heterodyne detection technique (OHDT).

AbstractThe AlGaN/GaN-based sensor is a promising POCT (point-of-care-testing) device featuring miniaturization, low cost, and high sensitivity. BNP is an effective protein biomarker for the early diagnosis of HF (heart failure). In this work, a novel AlGaN/GaN device with the Kelvin connection structure and the corresponding detection technique was proposed. This technique can effectively suppress the background noise and improve the SNR (signal-to-noise ratio). A BNP detection experiment was carried out to verify the effectiveness of this technique. It is shown that compared with that of the traditional detection method, the LOD (limit of detection) was improved from 0.47 ng/mL to 1.29 pg/mL. The BNP detection experiment was also carried out with a traditional electrochemical Au-electrode sensor with the same surface functionalization steps. The AlGaN/GaN sensor showed a better LOD than the Au-electrode sensor. Moreover, the influence of AlGaN/GaN sensor package on background noise was investigated with the mechanism of the noise source revealed. Finally, based on the optimized package, the optimal SNR quiescent operating point of the AlGaN/GaN sensor was determined. By biasing the sensor at the optimal quiescent operating point and immobilizing the magnetic beads with anti-BNP on the gate of the AlGaN/GaN sensor, the LOD for BNP detection was further improved to 0.097 pg/mL.

This study was performed to develop a non-destructive inspection system to detect grinding burn, which is capable of quantitative 100% inspection inside a production line. An eddy current sensor, which has advantages of short inspection time and low cost, was used. It was shown that the grinding burn detection technique had been developed and is possible to detect grinding burn by using this technique, in the 1st report1) and the 2nd report2). In this report, we have attempted to apply the grinding burn detection technique to evaluate the residual stress of work piece surface. Residual stress of work piece surface is affected by both thermal and mechanical effects. It is shown that the residual stress is possibly evaluated in the case of the thermal effect is dominant.
