Globally, hypertension remains one of the most pressing public health challenges. Therefore, this study investigated knowledge as a predictor of hypertension prevention practices among secondary school teachers in Ogbomoso North Local Government in Nigeria. The research adopted a cross-sectional survey design. 418 public secondary school teachers in Ogbomoso North, Oyo State, were selected through a multistage sampling technique. A validated questionnaire was used for data collection. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), version 23, was used at a 95% confidence interval. The results showed that almost half of the teachers, 184 (47.8%) were between the ages of 40 and 49 years with mean±SD of 42.64±7.779 years. Majority of the teachers (96.1%) knew that hypertension is caused by high blood pressure and early detection through regular monitoring is important. The risk factors were rightly identified by over half of the teachers. The level of knowledge was computed on a 21-point rating scale with mean±SD of 14.79±2.298. The level of preventive measures was moderate with a mean±SD of 15.34±4.983 on a 24-point rating scale. Knowledge had a significant but weak statistical relationship with practice of hypertension preventive measures (R2=0.040; p< 0.01). The findings of the study suggest that there are gaps in knowledge regarding hypertension among teachers in Oyo State, which could influence their behaviours towards prevention. There is a need for comprehensive health education for this group of teachers.

This research work investigated the attitude of Secondary School Teachers in the Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Nigeria towards Physical fitness for sports. The research design used for the study was the descriptive type of research. A simple random sampling technique was used to select two hundred (200) secondary school teachers selected from all the secondary schools in Secondary Schools in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Nigeria. The instrument for data collection for the study was a self-structured questionnaire. The instrument was subjected to a validity and reliability mechanism and it was found to be appropriate for the study. Four (4) research questions were raised and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The data collected were analysed using Chi-Square (X2) statistical analysis package. The findings of the study revealed that the disposition of secondary school teachers’ influences their attitude towards physical fitness programme and sports activities, the interest of secondary school teachers’ influences their attitude towards physical fitness programme and sports activities, availability of sports facilities influence the attitude of secondary school teachers’ toward physical fitness programme and sports activities and, secondary school teachers’ perception of health benefits of physical fitness influences their attitude towards physical fitness participation and sports activities in secondary schools in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Nigeria. Based on the findings, appropriate conclusions and recommendations were made.

<p><em>The study examined the relationship between job satisfaction and work performance of secondary school teachers in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo-State, Nigeria. The study population consisted of all secondary school teachers, while two hundred of them were randomly selected for the study. Regular payment of salary, opportunities for promotion, rapport with school authority, in-service training, job security, career prospect and retirement benefits were the variables considered. The questionnaire titled “Workers Opinion Survey Inventory (WOSI)” and the Productivity Rating Scale (PRS) which was in line with Annual Performance Evaluation Report (APPER) was used to obtain information for the study. The data was analyzed using Pearson Product Correlation Moment.  One of the recommendations made include the onward review of policies, remuneration and work conditions of teachers in the public secondary schools in Nigeria for optimum productivity.</em></p>


This study aims at examining the relationship between teacher computer-mediated communication (CMC) competence and teacher attitude toward using Frog VLE a virtual learning platform. This is a non-experimental research using a cross-sectional survey technique through the administration of a set of questionnaire that comprised teacher demographic variables, teacher CMC competence and teacher attitude toward using Frog VLE. The participants in this study are 351 secondary school teachers from Klang district, Selangor. The results indicated that teachers showed medium level of attitude and medium level of CMC competence toward using Frog VLE. Results showed that there is statistically significant direct causal relationship between teacher CMC competence and teacher attitude toward using Frog VLE. CMC motivation and CMC knowledge are the two direct factors of teachers’ affective and behavioural attitude toward using Frog VLE and CMC motivation predict teachers’ cognitive attitudes toward using Frog VLE.

Teachers possess the most important and critical position in the entire education system. Successful and effective teaching learning process depends upon the quality of a teacher. The purpose of this research study was to identify the problems which affect the performance of secondary school teachers. The objectives of the study were: (a) to identify the problems faced by male and female secondary school teachers in District Karak (b) to make workable recommendations to enhance the performance of male and female secondary school teachers. All the male and female secondary school teachers in District Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Pakistan) constituted the population of the study. The study was delimited to only 60 female and 80 male Govt. High Schools. In order to ensure adequate representation of the population, only 120 female and 160 male secondary school teachers were selected as sample randomly. The study was descriptive type and the researchers designed a questionnaire on five likert rating scale for the collection of data. Pilot testing was conducted to remove the misconceptions, ambiguities and weakness of the questions in the questionnaire. After pilot testing the questionnaire was revised and its final version was prepared in the light of suggestions given by the experts. In order to collect data, the researchers personally visited to the respective participants and distributed questionnaires among them and data was collected. Then it was organized, tabulated and analyzed. For the statisitcal analysis of the data, the percentage, means, standard deviations, and differences of means were computed for each male and female SSTs. Significance of difference between the mean opinions of both the male and females SSTs were tested at 0.05 level by applying t-test. After statistical analysis of the data, the researchers arrived at the conclusions that there are various problems which negatively affect the performance of secondary school teachers. These problems are: unattractive pay package; lack of basic facilities; overcrowded classes; misbehaviors of students; financial crises of teachers; overwork load; long distance to school; autocratic environment inside school etc. In the light of the findings and conclusions, it is recommended that teachers should be given attractive salaries and pay scale. Educational facilities should be provided to them. Heads of the institutions should be democratic minded and adopted the principles of equality. KEYWORDS: Identification, problems, secondary school teachers, secondary school level

Inclusive education represents the concern of the entire school and is committed to providing quality education to all students in the most effective way, so that special education and general education are consistent. The study aimed to analyze inclusive education in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The study was descriptive in nature and a cross-sectional survey was applied to collect the data. All 538 secondary school teachers and headteachers of District Pooch were the population of the study. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The researcher selected 185 secondary school teachers and 45 head teachers through a proportionate stratified random sampling technique as a sample. A questionnaire for teachers and headteachers was used as a research instrument in this study. Data were collected through personal visits and postal service. Data were analyzed through mean scores and standard deviation. Based on analysis it was found that inclusive education provides an opportunity for the enjoyment and implementation of full human rights without any discrimination because inclusive education allows understanding individual differences. It is recommended that the school Education Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) may introduce inclusive education at the district and tehsil level. Further, they need to plan for all teachers and headteachers to provide awareness about inclusive education.
