Background: Since the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), health care professionals in Lebanon have been diligently serving as the frontline of defense. In the light of challenging economic and political circumstances, putting their community wellbeing as a priority, and abiding by quarantine and strict infection control measures, health care professionals risk both their physical and mental wellbeing. Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the psychosocial effects of being quarantined following exposure to COVID-19 among Lebanese health care professionals. Method: An exploratory qualitative research design was employed, where semi-structured interviews were carried out involving a sample of 13 Lebanese health care providers working at various COVID-19 units. Results: The qualitative analysis has revealed four themes namely ‘Fears of contracting and spreading the virus’, ‘Conflict between professional duty and family obligation’, ‘Stigma of being infected’, and ‘Inadequate or inaccurate information’. Conclusion: COVID-19 quarantine has been posing intense psychological challenges among Lebanese health care workers which are worsened at times by the economic instability; thus, health care policymakers are urged to take proper action nationwide to alleviate longlisting implications and support the health care providers in fulfilling their mission.

Grounded on the social exchange model, the authors theorized the intermediating part of job satisfaction and trust in supervisors by linking it with justice and OCB in service sector, especially Hospital industry of Pakistan. Structual equation modeling is performed to analysze the data collected from 346 health care workers in Pakistan. Results revealed that procedural, distributive, and interactional justice are positively related to citizenship behavior. Furthermore, trust in supervisor and job satisfaction mediates the relationship between justice and citizenship behavior. The future research and theoratical implications of these findings are discussed.

Aim: The present study aimed to describe the prescribing pattern of topical betamethasone in the outpatient setting in Alkharj. Methodology: This retrospective study that included collecting data from the electronic prescriptions in a public hospital in Alkharj in 2018. Results: During the study period from Jan to Dec 2018 only 46 patients received topical betamethasone. Most of the patients were female (63.04%). About 71.74% of the prescribed betamethasone was in ointment form and 28.26% in lotion form. Most of the prescribers were residents (97.83%). Most of the prescriptions were written by dermatology department (58.70%). Conclusion: The use of topical betamethasone was uncommon and this could be due to the availability of other topical corticosteroids and other alternatives. It is important to increase the knowledge of health care workers and the patients regarding the use of topical corticosteroids.
