In modern dentistry, fibre-reinforced fixed dental prostheses are considered a useful alternative to classical metal-ceramic restorations. This method allows a conservative approach for replacing missing teeth that overcomes some of the drawbacks of conventional prostheses. Our patient required extraction of tooth #46 because of an apical lesion of the mesial root, and underwent extraction by hemisection. Aim: This case report describes the use of a surgical guide in a crown-lengthening procedure to improve the aesthetics of the anterior interdental papillae in an adult female patient. Methodology: A 40-year-old female underwent a crown-lengthening procedure with guidance provided by a surgical template to correct unsatisfactory aesthetics in the anterior gingiva and prosthesis. Results: The patient’s functional and aesthetic expectations were met successfully with interdisciplinary treatment, including surgical crown lengthening and the placement of all-ceramic restorations. Conclusions: This case showed that satisfactory anterior aesthetics can be achieved by comprehensive examination, careful planning of treatment employing a surgical guide, and prosthodontist–periodontist teamwork, even in the complete absence of interdental papillae.  How to cite this article: Kılıç D, Alkan BA, Kılıç K. A 62-year-old male patient sought treatment for missing maxillary teeth. A diagnostic cast demonstrated that the interocclusal distance was insufficient. A five-unit screw-retained implant-supported fixed partial denture (FPD) was used to restore missing maxillary teeth. The restoration of multiple missing teeth using an implant-supported FPD is challenging when the interocclusal distance is limited due to lack of retention and inadequate esthetics. In this case, a hexagonal, screw-retained, and sublingually located titanium-based zirconia implant-supported FPD with a conical abutment base was used for restoration to overcome the limited interocclusal distance. This implant-supported FPD, consisting of CAD/CAM-designed monolithic zirconia cemented to a titanium bonding base in the laboratory, is expected to facilitate predictable retention and adequate esthetics as well as provide ease of retrieval.

Adhesive bridge is a fixed partial denture that consisted of pontic and cast metal framework retainer that cementedto abutment teeth by means of adhesive cement, used acid etch technique. Adhesive bridge can be used to replaceone or two anterior or posterior teeth. This case report focused on the making of adhesive bridge in anterior andposterior single missing tooth. By minimal preparation and unanesthesied teeth, patient satisfaction could beachieved. Treatment should be done as patient needed with the adequate clinical technique and specific materialmanipulation.

Resin bonded fixed dental prosthesis offers most conservative and cost-effective option with missing teeth in aesthetic zone specially when an implant prosthesis is not indicated. This case report describes a treatment option for the replacement of a missing maxillary central incisor using a double-retainer resin-bonded fixed partial denture (RBFPD), fabricated from zirconium dioxide (ZrO) ceramic. No clinical complications were observed at follow-up examination after placement of the prosthesis. Satisfactory functional and aesthetic results were achieved. A treatment modality using a ZrO ceramic RBFPD is an alternative for single anterior tooth replacement.

ABSTRACTAll ceramic fixed partial dentures (FPD)s exhibit enhanced biocompatibility and esthetics as compared to metal-ceramic restorations. However, framework fractures are frequently reported especially when the connector dimensions are inadequate to withstand the high tensile stresses. The repair of the failed connector would be desirable rather than the complete removal and renewal since the latter is an expensive and time consuming procedure. Furthermore, the replacement or removal of the restoration for extra-oral repair purposes might increase the risk of destroying the entire restoration or damaging the abutment teeth during the removal. This article presents a direct intra-oral method that may be used to repair the connector fractures of all-ceramic FPDs which are otherwise clinically satisfactory. In the present technique, the connector is reconstructed intraorally utilizing composite resin restorative material reinforced with E-glass-fiber. (Eur J Dent 2008;2:63-68)

This case report details a 65-year-old male patient who underwent mandibular resection and radiotherapy as treatment for squamous cell carcinoma of the right mandible. The patient was rehabilitated with an implant-supported fixed partial denture and a maxillary occlusal ramp. The patient has been wearing his prosthesis for 2 years with no complaints.
