Introduction: Hypodontia or Dental agenesis; is defined as a developmental missing of any teeth, excluding the last molars. It may befall as a genetic syndrome or as a non-syndromic isolated trait. However, there is no prevalence available in our city. Aim and Objectives: The tenacity of this research is to assess the frequency of hypodontia among the population who received dental care at King Abdul Aziz University Dental Hospital in the city of Jeddah. Study Design:  Retrospective digital orthopantomographic: cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Oral & Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Department, King Abdulaziz University, between January 2019 and July 2020. Methodology: This research is a retrospective cross-sectional study based on the examination of an archival dental record and 2D panoramic radiographs of patients who are presented at King Abdulaziz University Dental Hospital, Jeddah. A total of 2045 records were reviewed and included in this study. Two general practitioners reviewed patient’s dental charts looking for congenital missing tooth/teeth in a dark room by the method that the practitioners use. Careful reviews of each patient’s record were done to ensure that the cause of the missing tooth/teeth were congenital and not surgical or traumatic. Data were gathered from dental records of patients’ age period 6-9 years since most of the dental follicle of the permanent teeth should be completed or the tooth just erupts, radiographic findings were always compared to the patients’ file and progress notes to ensure the causative factors of missing teeth. The data were recorded in an excel sheet which included gender, age, the type, area and counting of the missing teeth. Results: After collecting the data, the total number of patients after exclusion were 1984. The prevalence of hypodontia in our tested population was %5.39. Statistical analysis were done by using SPSS software to correlate between variables. Varices grades. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study our data shows that the most common congenitally tooth agenesis is the second premolar %47.6 and the second most common congenitally missing tooth is lateral incisor %18.6.

AbstractImmediate loading of dental implant in the anterior tooth region has been a growing trend and eliminates the compromised esthetics, function, discomfort, and inconvenience associated with traditional two-stage implant procedures. This case report presents the clinical application of implant placement with immediate loading using leukocyte-platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) in the anterior esthetic region. The implant was planned to rehabilitate in the anterior missing tooth region. As per the patient's desire, the implant was immediately loaded and L-PRF membrane was placed around the implant under local anesthesia on the day of surgery. The use of L-PRF for the maintenance of crestal bone and soft tissue at the implant sites provided an adequate clinical condition for better esthetics.

A female patient aged 13 years was referred to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, CSMSS Dental College, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India with a complaint of a missing tooth in the upper anterior region of the jaw. The patient was apparently healthy with no relevant family, medical and dental history. This case is peculiar due to the fact that the impacted maxillary central incisors are not frequently reported in our routine dental practice. Here, a case of impacted maxillary left permanent central incisors, with only a few reported cases in the literature, is presented. On radio diagnosis, it was observed that the tooth was sprawling in an inverted position in the anterior region of the maxilla with mild dilaceration. Moreover, the tooth was located beneath the remnants of the root stumps of the deciduous maxillary central incisors and lateral incisors. The treatment for this case was planned with mutual efforts of the orthodontists, the oral surgeon, and the patient with his parents. The most appropriate treatment of choice for this case was the Surgical extraction of the impacted maxillary central incisor along with the root stumps of deciduous teeth that were performed under local anaesthesia without any hindrance to the nasal floor

Currently dental implant treatment become popular. More clinicians are being presented with the opportunity to perform implant services in their own practice. The use of one-piece implant can be considered as treatment for the replacement of missing tooth in the areas of limited tooth-to-tooth spacing and would bring less trauma for the soft tissue. A 52-year-old female patient presented with difficulty in mastication due to the loss of teeth of 35 region with limitation mesio distal space. Radiology examination did not reveal any radiolucencies in 35 region. Radiograph revealed sufficient bone height from crestal to the floor of the mandible. A one-piece implant was placed in the 35 region. The present case used an endosteal implant, one stage surgery, and delayed loading. Restoration with porcelain fused to the metal crown had been delivered three months after the one-piece implant placement. The result of this treatment indicated that one-piece implant could be considered as an effective therapy choice for replacement of missing tooth in order to rehabilitate the masticatory function.

Abstract Background When dealing with the replacement of one missing tooth, the patient has the option of choosing between different types of treatment interventions. Several important factors play a role in his decision-making process, including his limited financial means and his efforts to solve the problem of missing teeth as effectively as possible. The main goal of the study is the economic-clinical evaluation of implant treatment, as a surgical-prosthetic method in dentistry, in case of replacement of one missing tooth of the molar area. Methods Cost-utility analysis from the patient's perspective is used for evaluation. The selected comparator is a purely prosthetic solution with the help of a three-unit fixed dental prosthesis. Cost-utility analysis is modelled using Markov models, which consider a 30-year time horizon. Results Based on the results of modelling, the intervention evaluated by the patient, i.e. treatment with the help of implant-supported single crown, brings exactly 15.31 quality-adjusted prosthesis years (QAPY) after 30 years. The value of incremental cost-utility ratio amounted to USD − 1434. Conclusion The results of the cost-utility analysis suggest that implant treatment with an implant-supported single crown is more cost-effective than treatment with the three-unit fixed dental prosthesis.

The patient of today is oftentimes more concerned about aesthetics and being holistic rather than with masticatory function. Once the dental industry figures some new trend in the market opinion leaders will be called to start innovating treatments. Hence, to be whole with the Universe and to replace a missing tooth, the 21st century patient will want a ceramic implant. What do we know about it, and more importantly, is it worth our sleep to provide this kind of implant to our patient? Many implantologists didn’t yet place any Zirconium Implant since many think this new approach lacks scientific studies being clinical reports, meta-analysis or longitudinal studies. Most of the papers available are focused on single-tooth replacements, however it’s easy to find here and there clinical cases of multiple restorations of a more innovative colleague.

Tooth loss is one of the changes in the oral cavity tissue. If the missing tooth is not replaced immediately, it can cause difficulties for the patient himself, such as chewing food, the presence of supra-erupted, tilted, or shifted teeth. The replacement of missing teeth can be done by making a removable denture or fixed denture. Clinical examination and oral care are very important and are the keys to successful removable dental treatment. Oral health is important for everyone. An efficient and regular procedure is needed to clean the GTL and maintain oral and dental health, in order to avoid the occurrence of denture stomatitis. The method used in community service is to provide materials on the maintenance of removable dental hygiene to mothers who visit the Nenas Posyandu in the Working Area of the Tambang Health Center, Kampar Regency. The results showed that after the service, the knowledge of the mothers increased, initially some of the mothers were still confused or did not know the maintenance of denture hygiene and the importance of using dentures in people who had lost teeth. This activity increases the knowledge of mothers in maintaining oral health.

A 54-year-old female patient reported with missing anterior front tooth since past one year and wanted its replacement. After considering all factors, she was advised for an implant supported prosthesis with respect to the missing tooth. Moreover, the anterior atrophic maxilla represents a challenge for the dentist which often require hard and soft tissue augmentation procedures. Currently custom abutments are reported in having functional and esthetic advantages over prefabricated abutments. In this case report , a maxillary anterior tooth has been replaced using a narrow diameter implant using a custom abutment followed by a DMLS prosthesis placement.

In a present scenario, dental implants are becoming very popular in day to day practice and is one of the most promising treatment modality in the procedure of replacement of missing tooth or teeth in the oral cavity. There are various factors over which the success of implant therapy depends, such as local as well as systemic factors, like age, bone availability in terms of height and width, bone density, any local infection present, systemic disease, and some other factors like implant design, implant surface, which plays an important role in the process of osseointegration.
