In the generation of the new technology segment, new explosionproof (Ex) equipment are being installed to make systems suitable for use in hazardous areas of mines. Generally, 80-90% equipment having flameproof (Exd) and intrinsic safety (Exi) methodology of protection are used in the mines for safe operation. The maintenance and safety are two vital parameters to improve the system efficiency of installation in the mines. These parameters are also responsible for the productivity of the mines. The minimum breakdown and maximum safety are the prime concerns of the mines to increase the production. Many observations and basic knowledge are necessary of safety parameters of Ex protections while doing maintenance because micro joules energy is sufficient to ignite the hazardous areas of mines. Trained and skilled personals having good knowledge of Ex protections are required to maintain the limitations of ignition energy sources of Ex equipment to prevent explosion in the mines. A regular and organized scheme of inspection and maintenance may ensure continued, satisfactory and safe operation of Ex electrical equipment in mines. The important points for safety and maintenance of Exd and Exi equipment are pondered in this paper.

In order to prevent the power system from the failure, an amount of spatially distributed sensors to monitor working conditions of the power equipments are needed. Using the wire cable to transmit the monitoring data usually caused the inconveniences of installation, inspection and maintenance in traditional wire monitoring system. Based on analyzing the advantages of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and summarizing the key technologies of applying WSNs on monitoring the health of the electrical equipment of the power system, the new design of the power equipment temperature monitoring system based on wireless sensor network is developed in this paper. The new design has been proved to be effective to improve the flexibility, the real-time and the reliability of monitoring the health of power equipment system in practices.

The aim of this publication is to review the current state and possibilities of developing electromobility and alternative fuels in Poland. It was found that the current market for alternative fuels in Poland is insufficiently developed. At the end of 2019 in Poland, liquefied petroleum gas-powered cars accounted for approximately 3.3 million pieces, which amounts to 14.3% all passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes of gross vehicle weight. There were over 9000 electric cars on the road, the share of which accounted for 0.04% of domestic passenger transport. The lack of a sufficient number of charging points, inhibiting the development of electromobility, was also noted. There were approximately 4000 (0.02%) passenger cars powered by compressed natural gas. Liquefied gas-powered vehicles were exclusively public transport vehicles or trucks. The share of biofuels in the Polish transport sector stands at 4%, while European Union requirements are at a level of 10%. Although there is huge potential for the use of hydrogen as an alternative to conventional transport fuels in Poland, just one hydrogen-powered vehicle has been registered in the country so far, with no filling station in existence for this fuel. The synthetic fuel sector is in the planning stage.
