Smith returned to Arcadia to practice law with a small firm there but shortly was recruited to practice with a firm in Bartow, Florida, in neighboring Polk County. Smith worked hard and soon found himself not only a partner but also running the firm and recruiting lawyers himself. He dreamed of growth and made the growth happen, taking advantage of new ideas such as specialized practice areas, hourly billing, and seeking out and hiring top students. In the meantime, he made himself valuable to the firm’s clients in the citrus industry and the environmentally destructive phosphate industry. Smith and his family would boat nearly every weekend and took some memorable trips.

The annual production of dried citrus pulp within the Florida Citrus Industry has risen during the past twenty five years from a modest beginning to a total of over 330,000 tons per year. To this must be added another 52,000 tons of citrus meal and citrus molasses produced last year so that the combined total by-products production for cattle feed purposes during the 1958–59 season was approximately 380,000 tons. This was estimated to be worth over 14 million dollars. Paper published with permission.

Today, the human problem in social life concerning education is growing more complex; many new ideas emerge as the level of human intellectuality grows. This paper will reveal the current issue of education in Indonesia and discuss ideas from the concept of liberal education. The basic issue of education criticized by liberal education is that education today focuses more on the needs of society than the educational objectives themselves. Education as a tool to transfer science, values, and agents of social change is seen as one alternative solution in the framework of improving people's lives. The education in which values are embodied is one of the efforts offered by genuine liberal education, aimed at giving us the habits, ideas and techniques necessary to continue our own education. Humans have the ability to learn continuously throughout life so that we can prepare ourselves to study and again as long as we are alive.
