Many kinds of production systems are used in medical equipment industries, one of which is through the work-in-process (WIP) buffer control system and feeding material scenarios to assure ability of the process to produce the expected throughput. The production model, known as the D minus 1 production scenario, is used to control production activities at the factory to be carried out using the day minus 1 rule. This rule is a time-based buffer production scenario in 1 day, ending at the finished goods assembly station used as the zero point (D0), from each workstation, pushed for one consecutive day to the beginning of the buffer. With the success of providing WIP buffers on D-1 and D-2 days, the product is certain to be ready on time. Production activities are modeled as Heaviside step function of the various processes involved therein. Production schedule, also production simulation, can be planned through a production dashboard provided for this purpose. Customers demand transformed to an integrated production schedule throughout the production flow, followed by production dispatching and execution. The integrated production schedule includes the supply of raw components, welding, paint, and product assembly to meet on time deliveries.

This article investigates the entrepreneurial beliefs/attitudes, ambitions, expectations, goals and visions of rural women who choose to cooperate and found Women's Rural cooperatives in the Prefecture of Heraklion on the island of Crete. The results of a qualitative study involving a sample of eight chairwomen of rural women's established Traditional Food Production cooperatives indicated that the traditional domestic roles (housewife, mother), the low level of education, the lack of professional skills, enterprise experience and mostly the unwillingness of rural women to undertake enterprise risk, have turned them toward an enterprise model that lacks modern business methods in the use of quality control production systems, in the production of Protected Geographical Identification Goods and/or Certified Local Traditional Food and/or Organic Products, in the use of new organizing and managing technologies, in advertising and promoting products and in administrative renewal.

A meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method (MLPG) using Heaviside step function as a test function for solving the biharmonic equation with subjected to boundary of the second kind is presented in this paper. Nodal shape function is constructed by the radial point interpolation method (RPIM) which holds the Kroneckers delta property. Two-field variables local weak forms are used in order to decompose the biharmonic equation into a couple of Poisson equations as well as impose straightforward boundary of the second kind, and no special treatment techniques are required. Selected engineering numerical examples using conventional nodal arrangement as well as polynomial basis choices are considered to demonstrate the applicability, the easiness, and the accuracy of the proposed method. This robust method gives quite accurate numerical results, implementing by maximum relative error and root mean square relative error.

Abstract A fully integrated production model (IPM) has been implemented in the Sakhalin field to optimize hydrocarbons production and carried out effective field development. To achieve our goal in optimizing production, a strategy has been accurately executed to align the surface facilities upgrade with the production forecast. The main challenges to achieving the goal, that we have faced were:All facilities were designed for early production stage in late 1980's, and as the asset outdated the pipeline sizes, routing and compression strategies needs review.Detecting, predicting and reducing liquid loading is required so that the operator can proactively control the hydrocarbon production process.No integrated asset model exists to date. The most significant engineering tasks were solved by creating models of reservoirs, wells and surface network facility, and after history matching and connecting all the elements of the model into a single environment, it has been used for the different production forecast scenarios, taking into account the impact of infrastructure bottlenecks on production of each well. This paper describes in detail methodology applied to calculate optimal well control, wellhead pressure, pressure at the inlet of the booster compressor, as well as for improving surface flowlines capacity. Using the model, we determined the compressor capacity required for the next more than ten years and assessed the impact of pipeline upgrades on oil gas and condensate production. Using optimization algorithms, a realistic scenario was set and used as a basis for maximizing hydrocarbon production. Integrated production model (IPM) and production optimization provided to us several development scenarios to achieve target production at the lowest cost by eliminating infrastructure constraints.

An alert system for tomato late blight was validated in an Integrated Production System (IP) in the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 season in Caçador, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. The late blight is a destructive disease and demands 25 or more fungicide sprayings per season in a Conventional Production (CP) System. For the CP area, the chemical control was according to the growers' production systems and consisted of weekly sprays soon after planting. For the IP area, the criterion for the first fungicide spray was according to Machardy (1972) and for subsequent ones according to Wallin (1962), when the disease severity values (DSV) reached eight points. There was a decrease on the fungicide application in the IP, not only in the number of fungicide sprays (23-28%) but also in the amount of active ingredient (34.5-60.9%). Fungicides classified as highly toxic (class I) were not used in IP. There were no significant differences among the use of alert system on IP and the weekly schedules on CP with regard to final disease severity in the 2006-2007 season, but it was significantly lower in the second trial on plants for IP area. The IP system significantly increased tomato yield (7.6-25.5%) compared with CP system and reduced fungicide cost up to US$539/ha. The use of alert system could be a valuable and affordable tool in managing tomato late blight in Integrated Production of tomatoes in Caçador.
