Aim. The current paper addresses the distribution of parasitic plants from Cuscuta L. (Convolvulacae) and Orobanche L. (Orobanchaceae) genera in Ukraine based on the analysis of the herbarium specimens from the National Herbarium of M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany, NAS of Ukraine (KW) and literature. Methods. In order to study the places of growth of the dodder and broomrape the traditional method based on the development of literary sources and herbarium funds. Results. About 1600 samples from KW were analyzed and data is summarized in tables. Conclusions. It was found that the distribution range of these parasitic plants is attributed mostly to the Steppe natural zone of Ukraine including the Crimean Peninsula. The results will be used in further research to develop an efficient strategy of parasitic phytoquarantine species control. Keywords: biotic stress factors, parasitic plants, dodder, broomrape.

Abstract. To develop of sheep breeding in the selected region should be based on the most complete analysis of previous work with sheep breeds. This will allow to plan further stages in the industry. The purpose of the analysis was to study the origin, the main characteristics of sheep breeds on the Crimean Peninsula, their intensification and the purpose of their use on the basis of literary sources. The main research method is periodization, which allows us to analyze the breed composition of sheep in the studied time stages, which allows us to compare the features of the considered stages of the development of the industry on the peninsula. The results of the analysis indicate the fact that the sheep breeds in various historical periods of development of the Crimean Peninsula are an important element of sheep breeding described in the article. The fact that the coarse wool sheep breeding developed extensively and have been focused on getting from sheep's milk and mutton at the end of the XVIII century. Manufacturers in the XIX century on the production of fine wool accent give. Suitable types and breeds of sheep in the practice introduced are Electoral (sheep with superior wool), Electoral-and-Negretti, Negretti, Rambouillet and others. Production of sheep's milk and its products have occupied only peasant farms, where animals are were bred coarse wool and semi-fine wool breeds are Malych, Valachian and Tsigai. Sheep breeding industry develops intensively in the twentieth century in Crimea. Tsigai Breed sheep becomes of the planned. This breed is still the main on peninsula and the present time. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time a deep historical analysis of the evolution of sheep farming on the Crimean Peninsula since its entry into the Russian Empire at the end of the 18th century was carried out and recommendations for the further development of the industry were given.

The distribution of Sonchus palustris in Slovakia was studied using herbarium specimens and literary sources. The herbarium studies, supplemented with targeted field search in the years 2015–2018, revealed 61 new localities and confirmed many other older locations. The species has been recorded in 19 phytogeographical districts and sub-districts of Slovakia. Most of the records are concentrated in the Podunajská nížina lowland in SW Slovakia and in the Ipel'sko-rimavská brázda region in southern Slovakia. Our results showed that the species is relatively common in different types of wetlands and its re-evaluation in the recent version of the Slovak red list is not needed. Chromosome number data for two new populations in eastern Slovakia (both 2n = 18) were counted. The distribution map is given.

The situation in the ecology of the Crimean Peninsula in recent years was discussed in the article. The analysis of absolute and integrated indicators of the anthropogenic impact showed that the ecological situation remains difficult, and according to some indicators even continues to deteriorate. In summer 2018, the situation had worsened because of the large chemical release of titanium dioxide on the north of the Crimea from the holding pond of a large Russian plant that is situated near the town of Armyansk. This, in turn, led to the contamination of the large territory on the north of the peninsula. This fact indicates insufficient control by officials of the Republic of Crimea over the implementation of the RF laws for environmental protection by business owners of various forms of ownership, especially private ownership, the level of responsibility for the environment of which is very low.

AbstractA fragment of equid tibia found with a Mousterian assemblage in a rockshelter in the Crimean peninsula is carefully examined. The authors show that it has been knapped like flint to produce a tool probably at a time when stone resources were becoming exhausted. This tool is thus the product of a Neanderthal response to a local need as well as proof that the technological properties of bone were known.
