The main characteristics and hardware requirements of Virtual Reality Technology are described in this paper, which summarize the application of virtual reality technology in landscape architecture knowledge, learning, teaching, training and scientific research process, and explore the use of digital city and landscape architecture technology platform to create multiple virtual laboratories and training station conception; it also analyze the influence of the virtual reality technology to teaching concept, teaching content, teaching means . In recent years, computer technology plays an important role in landscape design. Not only can it calculate the garden earth, draw the design of the plane and elevation renderings giving people with static visual experience, but also it implements the three-dimensional landscape animation with the development of computer hardware and software technology, especially the wide application of AutoCAD and 3dsMAX, so that people in the completion of the project can appreciate the pre-built landscape, having the strong performance of the dynamic three-dimensional force. However, the output for the landscape animation avi video format does not have real-time interactivity, which cannot satisfy people autonomy roaming; whereas the production process in the landscape roaming animation, 3D volume data in the scene has certain limitations, can not meet the 3D data volume expansion. The status of 1virtual reality technology and its application in the garden of the 1.1 virtual reality technology, virtual reality (Virtual Reality, abbreviated as VR, also known as VR) refers to the use of computer technology at the core.

The technology of virtual reality is an advanced computer user interface technology, which provides users with a variety of intuitive and natural real-time senses and interactive means in the aspects of vision, touch, taste, etc, thus realizing the most convenient user-computer interaction without any complicated keyboard operation and improving the efficiency of the whole system. virtual reality is basically characterized by immersion, interaction and imagination. The designer and the user can get the comprehensive result of survey and design when the virtual reality technology is applied. The landscape architecture designing. Furthermore, this technology can show the user or designer the total information on landscape space, enable the user or designer do some long-distance on-line browsing and communicating, make computerassisted designing and decision, and help the public participate. However, there are several key problems in application of virtual reality technology landscape architecture designing, such as modeling of virtual environment, real-time 3D-imagegenerating technology, interactive technology and system integrating technology. With the rapid development of virtual reality technology and the active participation of the landscape architects, the application of the virtual reality technology. The landscape architectural designing will surely bring along the innovation of the methodology and essence of landscape architecture designing.

Traditional garden design is considered as the main course of landscape architecture. Through the teaching reform of this course, students can learn the design principles and methods of landscape design and combine classroom theoretical teaching with practical teaching. In view of the characteristics of application-oriented universities, this paper improves the teaching quality of traditional landscape architecture design course through the discussion-based teaching method.

Residential garden design using Kansei engineering is a challenging problem. Landscaping components, such as rocks, trees, and ponds, are widely diversified and have a large number of possible arrangements. This large number of design alternatives makes conventional analyses, such as linear regression and its variations like Quantification Theory Type I (QT1), inapplicable for analyzing the relationships between design elements and the Kansei evaluation. We applied a partial least squares (PLS) model that effectively deals with a large number of predictor variables. The multiple correlation coefficient of the PLS analysis was much higher than that of the QT1 analysis. The results of the analyses were used to create a low-cost virtual reality Kansei engineering system that permits visualization of garden designs corresponding to selected Kansei words. To render complex garden scenes, we developed an original 3D computation and rendering library built on Java. The garden is shown in public-view style with stereo 3D graphic projection. The rendering is scalable from low to high resolution and enables drop object shadowing, which is indispensable for considering the effect of daytime changes in insolation. Visualizing the garden design based on Kansei analysis could facilitate collaboration between the designer and customer in the design process.
