Introduction: Anger has been defined in many ways from “a negative, phenomenological (or internal) feeling state” to “a basic emotion in which the function is to provide the organism with motivated capacities to overcome obstacles”. Anger has been the subject of many discourses and its vehemence in many religions and cultures. The study aimed to determine the ability of anger management among different gender and factors associated with anger management. Methods: This is a cross-sectional prospective study. The validated ‘Quality of Life’ questionnaire from University of Washington, Seattle Washington, United Sates of America and Novaco Anger Scale from Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky & Southwest Ohio (WHOQOL-BREF) were used for students’ perception on anger management. Quantitative data were analyzed using Epi Info Version. 7 Software. Results: The total of 358 students participated in this study. There is a significant association between anger management among different ethnicity. Conclusion: Gender was not a significant factor in anger management, it was probably due to equal opportunity among male and female in acquiring education, application for scholarships and usage of education facilities. Gender equality had a big impact in enhancing the good anger management properties.

Abstract Background The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of peripheral neuropathy on the quality of life of breast cancer patients throughout with monthly follow-up during 4 months of paclitaxel treatment.Material and methods The research was conducted with a prospective cross sectional with four follow-ups descriptive design. The study population consisted of female patients with breast cancer at Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital between August 2018 and January 2019. Data were collected the ‘’Patient Information Form’’,‘’EORTC C30 Cancer Quality Of Life Questionnaire’’ and ‘’Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool’’. The study was undertaken in accordance with the STROBE checklist for cross-sectional studies. Results Of 79 patients included in the Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool except for the general activity subdimension were statistically significant in the ratings of 2nd, compared to 1st; 3rd compared to 1st and 2nd; 4th compared to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd follow-up periods. The overall mean of EORTC C30 Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire, functional subdimension, symptom severity, and general well-being in the evaluations of 2nd, compared with 1st; 3rd compared with 1st and 2nd; 4th compared with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd follow-up periods it was found that the mean values of symptom that decreased gradually were statistically significant. Conclusion The neuropathy scale was found to be higher in 2nd, 3rd, 4th follow-up periods than in 1st follow-up. Also, EORTC C30 Cancer QLQ subdimensions were high initially but gradually decreased after the fourth cycle. Thus, it was found that the increase in neuropathy symptoms negatively affects the quality of life.

Abstract Background To assess the psychometric properties, including internal consistency, construct validity, criterion validity, criterion-group validity, and responsiveness, the Reviewed McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire (MQOL-R), into Brazilian Portuguese-(BrP). Also, to analyze the relationship of the BrP-MQOL-R with the scores on the Karnofsky Performance Scale (KPS) and on the Numerical Pain Scale (NPS 0–10). Methods The BrP-MQOL-R was administered to a sample of 146 adults (men = 78). A team of experts translated the MQOL-R according to international guidelines. Convergent validity and Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed. Results The BrP-MQOL-R Cronbach’s alpha was 0.85. CFA supported the original four-factor structure, with the following revised model fit-indices: PCLOSE = 0.131, Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI) rho 2 = 0.918, incremental fit index (IFI) delta 2 = 0.936. The convergence validity is supported by a significant correlation between BrP-MQOL-R total scores and their subscales with KPS and with the single item related to the quality of life. And by a converse correlation with the pain scores in the NPS (0–10). Receiver operator characteristics (ROC) analysis showed subjects with KPS equal to or lower than 30% could be discriminated from those with scores on KPS higher than 30% by an area under the curve (AUC) = 0.71, sensitivity = 97%, and specificity = 92%). Conclusion The BrP-MQOL-R proves to be a reliable instrument for assessing the quality of life (QOL) in palliative care (PC), with primary evidence of validity. BrP-MQOL-R presented adequate discriminate properties to identify distinct conditions that impact the QOL in PC.

Acromegaly Quality of Life Questionnaire (AcroQoL) is a new disease-generated quality of life (QOL) questionnaire comprising 22 questions covering physical and psychological aspects of acromegaly and subdivided into “appearance” and “personal relations” categories. We have performed a cross-sectional study of QOL in 80 patients [43 male (mean age, 54.2 yr; range, 20–84); median GH, 0.93ng/ml (range, <0.3 to 23.7); IGF-I, 333.1 ng/ml (range, 47.7–899)] with acromegaly. In addition to AcroQoL, patients completed three generic QOL questionnaires: Psychological General Well-Being Schedule (PGWBS), EuroQol, and a signs and symptoms score (SSS). All three generic questionnaires confirmed impairment in QOL [mean scores: PGWBS, 69.6; EuroQol, visual analog scale, 66.4 (range, 20–100) and utility index, 0.7 (range, −0.07 to 0.92); and SSS, 12 (range, 0–27)]. There was no correlation between biochemical control and any measure of QOL. AcroQoL (57.3%; range, 18.2–93.2) correlated with PGWBS (r = 0.73; P < 0.0001); and in patients with active disease, AcroQoL-physical dimension correlated with SSS (r = −0.67; P < 0.0003). In all questionnaires, prior radiotherapy was associated with impaired QOL. In conclusion, these data underline the marked impact that acromegaly has on patients’ QOL and provide the first evidence validating AcroQoL against well-authenticated measures of QOL. This indicates the potential of AcroQoL as a patient-friendly measure of disease activity.

Σε όλους τους ασθενείς διανεμήθηκαν ερωτηματολόγια δυσφαγίας (MD Anderson Dysphagia Inventory) και ποιότητας ζωής (MD Anderson Quality of life Questionnaire).

The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between the participants’ self-reported quality of life and their sense of coherence in a sample (n = 85) of patients on treatment with oral antivitamin K anticoagulants. A cross-sectional design was used. The measurement instruments included a questionnaire on sociodemographic variables, the Spanish version of the Abbreviated World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF), an oral-anticoagulant-treatment-specific quality-of-life questionnaire, and the sense-of-coherence (SOC) scale. We analyzed the correlations between the participants’ characteristics and the results from the quality-of-life and SOC scales. Age, level of education, employment status, living arrangement, and treatment length were the determinants of the quality of life in people treated with oral anticoagulants. We found a significant association between the four domains of the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire and general treatment satisfaction (p < 0.01); no significant correlations were found between the SOC subscales and the oral-anticoagulant-treatment-specific quality of life in our sample. Women had a worse level of self-management than men. Nursing interventions should be tailored to the needs of the populations on treatment with oral anticoagulants in order to facilitate a higher level of self-management.
