The architecture of unrealized projects of consular institutions of the Russian Imperial Consulate in Harbin is considered and analyzed. The projects were part of an unrealized plan to reorganize the consular service of the Russian Empire, the construction of which was never carried out due to the outbreak of the First World War and the subsequent October Revolution. In the course of the study, authorship of the projects carried out by the talented civil engineer Kazy-Girey Nikolai Alexandrovich was established, as well as his brief biography and the main stages of his creative activity. The article also describes the architectural, planning and compositional features of draft designs, such as the building of the consulate, the houses of the consul and vice-consuls.

The amphibious invasions of Sicily, Salerno, and Normandy all made ample use of US Navy landing pontoons. The simple steel box pontoons were the brainchild of civil engineer Captain John N. Laycock, who developed and perfected his inventive design on the eve of American entry into World War II. Once in the conflict, a Royal Navy reserve officer assigned to Combined Operations Headquarters, Captain Thomas A. Hussey, conceptualized innovative uses for the American pontoons for offensive amphibious operations. Working together, these men developed pontoon causeways and massive lighterage barges which ensured logistical success in the invasions of German-occupied Europe. Les invasions amphibies de la Sicile, de Salerne et de la Normandie ont toutes fait appel aux pontons de débarquement de la Marine américaine. Les simples pontons flottants en acier ont été créés par le capitaine John N. Laycock, ingénieur civil, qui a développé et perfectionné sa conception géniale à la veille de l’entrée des États-Unis dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Une fois le conflit déclenché, le capitaine Thomas A. Hussey, officier de réserve de la Marine royale affecté au quartier général des opérations combinées, a mis au point des utilisations novatrices des pontons américains pour les opérations amphibies offensives. La collaboration de ces deux hommes a permis de développer des chaussées de pontons et d’énormes barges de chalandage qui ont assuré le succès logistique des invasions de l’Europe occupée par les Allemands.

The chapter deals with main components are part of the prognostic competence. The chapter discusses possibility of using intelligent systems to model the predictive competence of a civil engineer. The analysis of the study of the problem was carried out using content analysis A model of the development of prognostic competence of a civil engineer using the Matlab software package with the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox module has been developed. A step-by-step forecasting technology, as well as possible errors in creating a forecast by an expert and ways of solving them, are proposed. In conclusion the chapter says most of all the level of formation of predictive competence depends on activity component.

Abstract: Acoustics in buildings is that part of science in which importance has been given to the sound quality in building, which enables a proper understanding of the different factors influencing the same. Acoustics being one of the important factor which enables in reduction of transmission of noise and enable a better sound quality in the room. But however either very less or insufficient amount of work has been put in considering the scope of the subject. Some other limitations are builders either do not give priority to that aspect due to lack of information or the improper design and poor implementation. Also The Indian Standard Codes in this area are too old and need updation considering the Modern Scenario and Modern Construction Practices. So efforts have been made to consider this situation and find the best practices, recent innovations and methodologies which could help in maintaining proper Acoustics in Buildings, Halls, Auditorium's etc. And what role could a Civil Engineer play in elimination of this problem.
