An intuitive view is that creativity involves bringing together what is already known and familiar in a way that produces something new. In cognitive science, this intuition is typically formalized in terms of computational processes that combine or associate internally represented information. From this computationalist perspective, it is hard to imagine how non-representational approaches in embodied cognitive science could shed light on creativity, especially when it comes to abstract conceptual reasoning of the kind scientists so often engage in. The present article offers an entry point to addressing this challenge. The scientific project of embodied cognitive science is a continuation of work in the functionalist tradition in psychology developed over a century ago by William James and John Dewey, among others. The focus here is on how functionalist views on the nature of mind, thought, and experience offer an alternative starting point for cognitive science in general, and for the cognitive science of scientific creativity in particular. The result may seem paradoxical. On the one hand, the article claims that the functionalist conceptual framework motivates rejecting mainstream cognitive views of creativity as the combination or association of ideas. On the other hand, however, the strategy adopted here—namely, revisiting ideas from functionalist psychology to inform current scientific theorizing—can itself be described as a process of arriving at new, creative ideas from combinations of old ones. As is shown here, a proper understanding of cognition in light of the functionalist tradition resolves the seeming tension between these two claims.

In this study, a fuzzy cooperative continuous static game (PQFCCSG) with n players having fuzzy parameters in all of the cost functions and the right- hand-side of constraints is characterized. Their fuzzy parameters are represented by piecewise quadratic fuzzy numbers. The α-pareto optimal solution concept is specified. In addition, the stability sets of the first and second kind without differentiability are conceptualized and established. An illustrated numerical example is discussed for proper understanding and interpretation of the proposed concept.

Since the early 1980s researchers have shown increased interest in integrating spirituality and leadership. Spirituality has emerged as a discrete construct underlying the essence of effective leadership, and the negotiating ability has been regarded as one of its core descriptors. The study, on which the present chapter is based, attempts to ascertain the relationship between spirituality and leaders' negotiating ability. The sample for this study consisted of 450 leaders and 904 subordinates working across different service and manufacturing sectors in India. With the help of a mixed-method research design, data was gathered employing several tools. Leaders' spirituality has been measured through MacDonald's spirituality inventory and their negotiating ability through Rai's model. The study reveals that leaders' negotiating ability is a function of spirituality, and a proper understanding of spirituality improves negotiating abilities of leaders. It offers workable suggestions and outlines the implications of the results for policy and practice.

With many benefits of the High Strength Concrete (HSC) the more brittle behavior which leads to sudden failure makes it important for proper understanding of its behaviour and safe and efficient estimation of capacities. Research on the behavior of HSC has been extensively carried out since last decade. High strength concrete has higher tensile strength hence a higher cracking shear can be expected. This paper analyses the different international standards available for estimating concrete’s component of shear strength for RCC beam. Different important factors mainly strength in compression, steel reinforcement (dowel action), ratio of shear span and depth, size effect i.e. depth along with the aggregate type (density of concrete) contributing to shear stress (Tc) of concrete has been also analyzed and thereafter, an equation has been proposed to compute or predict Tc value for concrete of both normal and higher grade or strength. The proposed equation has been validated by experimental results wherein 12 RCC beams (with and without reinforcement for shear) were cast and tested to fail in shear. The experimental results validated the proposed equation with considerable factor of safety keeping in view the sudden and brittle nature of failure in concrete in case of shear.

The main aim of this study is to consider and present pedagogy students’ attitudes towards the elderly. The results presented herein were collected in a pilot project. The survey was conducted among 66 pedagogy students; a questionnaire and the semantic differential method were used as the research tools. The results revealed positive attitudes among the students towards the elderly. However, a conclusion was drawn that pedagogy students should be allowed to take part in activities involving the elderly. Students’s awareness of their own attitudes might allow them to understand elderly people’s behavior. A proper understanding of the aging process and old age can create a chance for better communication and inter-generational cooperation. It is also an inspiration for understanding their own aging process.

Ayurveda has two basic aims i.e., first preventive aspect rather than curative method. Aahara (food) plays very important role to maintain health of a person as it is one of the three sub pillars (Tri-upastambha) of Ayurveda. Aahara is the main source of energy and nutrition, also with therapeutic value and most important during post treatment period to regain the strength of body. Aahara not only nourishes the body but also nurtures the mind and soul, hence it is called as Poornabramha and Aahara-sevana (eating food) considered as a ritual in Ayurveda. Nutrition is always a basic and essential part for mankind. It has also positive effect on growth and development with cognitive function in children. Various health problems can be prevented through nutritious diet. Malnutrition generally refers both to under nutrition and over nutrition diseases. Nutritional deficiency disorders are described in various Ayurvedic texts which can be correlated with Apatarpanajanya Vyadhis. Various Acharya of Ayurveda described diseases such as Phakka, Parigarbhika, Balashosha, Karshya etc in different Samhitas can also correlated to nutritional deficiency disorders. A critical review of these disorders provides different aspects of malnutrition and proper understanding of pathogenesis in terms of Dosha - Dushya which will give a valuable key for their effective management. This paper highlights the Ayurvedic review of nutritional deficiency related disorders in children

Ayurveda being the Shashwatha Vijnana deals with many concepts which are applicable at all times. As the Pray- ojana of the Science is maintaining the health of healthy and curing the diseases of diseased person; in order to understand the disease, many concepts have been described among which Trividha Bodhya Sangraha is the prime one. This particular concept has been dealt under Rogachatushka of Charaka Samhita while explaining about Asan- khyeyatva of Vyadhi. It includes Vikara Prakruthi, Adhishtana and Samutthana Vishesha. In classical texts there is an elaborative description of many diseases; but as time passes a new variety of pathological presentations are manifesting which are not exactly similar to those mentioned in classics. There might be different Nidanas, different dosha involvement, different Adhisthana in the body and different Lakshanas. In such cases, a proper understanding of the entire condition is necessary to plan management protocol. Prior to that, there is the necessity of complete knowledge about Trividha Bodhya Sangraha i.e. their scope, application and limitations. Therefore, the present work is attempting for the same which will be helpful in understanding the concept and application of the same in practice. Keywords: Trividha Bodhya Sangraha, Vikara Prakruthi, Adhishtana, Samutthana Vishesha, Anukta Vyadhi, Aparisankhya Vyadhi.

Menstrual disorders are a common problem in adolescents the world over. Though the onset of menstruation is part of the normal maturation process, Menstrual disorders form the commonest gynecological complaint (45-58 %) among adolescents. The series of natural changes occurring to the uterus and body starting from the first day(1) of periods until the day before next periods can be called as menstrual cycle. It consists of “menstruation” in which inner layers of uterus sheds along with blood, and “ovulation” in which the ovum is released from the ovary. Men- strual hygiene deals with special healthcare needs and requirements of women during monthly menstruation or menstrual cycle. Unhygienic menstruation is the prime cause of menstrual diseases. Abnormalities in menstrual cycle are increased or decreased menstrual flow and increased or decreased intervals between two menstrual cycles. Menstrual abnormalities are common pathological problems associated with women of puberty age, which is en- hanced by disturbed dietary and daily regimens. It requires early attention and interventions to protect them from having undesired health events in the future. In addition to this appropriate Ayurveda medicines are required to bring the body in a balanced state. Here an attempt is made to compile the ideas of Acharya about menstrual health problems for their proper understanding and treatment through Ayurveda- the science which survived the time. Keywords: Normal menstruation, Menstrual hygiene, Adolescent girls, Menstrual disorders, Treatment and pre- vention, Ayurveda, Ritu

This study aim to investigate the concept of dilālah fi'li al-Nabi in terms of interpreting the sunnah from the prophet. This study also aim to know the implication of dilālah fi'li al-Nabi of the perspective of fiqh ikhtilaf. The methodological approach of the study was qualitative literature review using philosophical normative approach and the rules of ushul fiqh approach. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The law of Istinbāṭ sunnah fiʻliyah has been considered to be different from sunnah qauliyah, particularly in an attempt to understand the dilālah. If the sunnah qauliyah is merely interpreted based just only by its language, the fi'liyah sunnah is interpreted based on the essence of prophets’ actions also. Therefore, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of determining the law of the Prophet's actions. The Prophet's position as a qudwah and a human being that Allah has given distinction to him made the application of the law become different to his followers. So that it has to be taken into consideration before deciding any laws related to the prophet’s hadiths. (2) Ikhtilaf uṣūliyīn on dilālah fi'l al-Nabī has implications on various fiqh problems which postulate the actions of the Prophet. Ikhtilaf happens in an attempt to understand fi’l al-Nabī al-mujarrad because there are no supporting argument or the qarīnah, the explanatory instructions which is useful as a lawmaker. Some uṣūliyīn think that taʼassī in terms of the actions done by Nabi Muhammads’ followers will be rewarded by Allah though the actions are not related to any worship. Therefore, the spirit of taʼassī to sunna Nabi must be follewed by a proper understanding and a proper application, because a contradictive application of maqāṣid syarīʻah can happen if it is partially understood and jumūd. In contrast, the other groups that are against this spirit must beware of falling into excessive attitudes that can ruin the good relation between muslims, and must beware of falling into deviations.
