Sensitive information being shared on the internet is growing. Becauseof this, it is increasingly necessary to take security measureswhilst this information travels in the network. Digital steganographyallows one to send sensitive information in a hidden manner.Although there is a plethora of techniques for such a goal, findingan appropriate one is not always simple. This paper implementsand compares spatial-domain digital steganography techniques inboth RGB and grayscale images. A frequency-domain heuristic forreducing the visual impact of digital steganography in grayscaleimages is presented. As another result of this work, a dataset is alsoavailable in the Kaggle platform with 18 GB of images, containingsecret messages using the techniques under study. In addition, aPython language library was also made available in the PyPI repository, allowing for both concealment and revelation of messagesusing the presented digital steganography methods.

Digital steganography is the art of hiding secret messages and data in innocent cover, most likely in images and videos. Images and videos offer the best cover files for steganography with their high capacity, by being innocent and for being easily exchanged without raising the suspicions of a third party. A lot are the free tools that embeds data in images and videos, among which is OurSecret. In this paper we aim to detect the stego images and videos created by OurSecret by developing a steganalysis tool BBD15.

In this digital era, most of the daily works of users are captured in digital forms like image, audio, video, or even text. These may contain sensitive, confidential, or private information as well. To keep these, there are different techniques exercised over the years like chest, coffer, repository, treasury, etc. Sometimes such ways of hiding information attract unintended users. Therefore, steganography has been applied to digital objects in a new form called digital steganography. This chapter enforces identifying methods in digital steganography. The basic model of any type of digital steganography is composed of three types of objects: cover object, text to be hidden, and stego object. Depending on the type of cover object, different types of digital steganography methods have been defined. Only data hiding in text is discussed.

Nowadays authors of cinematographic works are often faced to protect copyright need. One way to resolve such an issue is to use digital watermarks. Digital watermarks are some kind of encrypted message that allows distinguishing the original work from its forgery. At the same time the audio or video file with a built-in message looks no different from a file without a digital watermark, what is a key advantage of its use and at the same time it makes difficult to playback the file illegally. A set of methods for undetectable hiding some bit sequences in others is called digital steganography. An important advantage of steganography over cryptographic methods is the hiding the fact of embedding a code message. Embedding digital watermarks by using the least significant bit method allows embedding a digital watermark in such a way that a person will not notice any changes in the video file. The article considers the known methods of embedding digital watermarks and the structure of the AVI file format. It presents an algorithm for embedding and extracting digital watermarks for AVI video files based on LSB method with using hash-function. The algorithm provides a counteraction to the spread of counterfeit products.

Digital steganography is the art and science of hiding information in covert channels, so as to conceal the information and prevent the detection of hidden messages. On the classic computer, the principle and method of digital steganography has been widely and deeply studied, and has been initially extended to the field of quantum computing. Quantum image steganography is a relatively active branch of quantum image processing, and the main strategy currently used is to modify the LSB of the cover image pixels. For the existing LSB-based quantum image steganography schemes, the embedding capacity is no more than 3 bits per pixel. Therefore, it is meaningful to study how to improve the embedding capacity of quantum image steganography. This work presents a novel steganography using reflected Gray code for color quantum images, and the embedding capacity of this scheme is up to 6 bits per pixel. In proposed scheme, the secret qubit sequence is considered as a sequence of 6-bit segments. For 6 bits in each segment, the first 3 bits are embedded into the second LSB of RGB channels of the cover image, and the remaining 3 bits are embedded into the LSB of RGB channels of the cover image using reflected-Gray code to determine the embedded bit from secret information. Following the transforming rule, the LSBs of stego-image are not always same as the secret bits and the differences are up to almost 50%. Experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme shows good performance and outperforms the previous ones currently found in the literature in terms of embedding capacity.

Steganography is data hidden within data. Steganography is an encryption technique that can be used along with cryptography as an extra-secure method in which to protect data. Steganography techniques can be applied to images, a video file or an audio file. Steganography is the practice of concealing a file, message, image, or video within another file, message, image, or video. The first recorded use of the term was in 1499 by Johannes Trithemius in his Steganographia, a treatise on cryptography and steganography, disguised as a book on magic. The advantage of steganography over cryptography alone is that the intended secret message does not attract attention to itself as an object of scrutiny. Plainly visible encrypted messages, no matter how unbreakable they are, arouse interest and may in themselves be incriminating in countries in which encryption is illegal. Whereas cryptography is the practice of protecting the contents of a message alone, steganography is concerned both with concealing the fact that a secret message is being sent and its contents. Steganography includes the concealment of information within computer files. In digital steganography, electronic communications may include steganographic coding inside of a transport layer, such as a document file, image file, program or protocol.
