The paper presents the results of the experimental study of the three-layer Al-Mg-Al sheets rolling process by the ARB method. The tests carried out were limited to single-pass symmetric and asymmetric rolling processes. An Al-Mg-Al package with an initial thickness of 4 mm (1-2-1 mm) was subjected to the process of rolling with a relative reduction of 50%. To activate the shear band in the strip being deformed, an asymmetry factor of av=2 was applied. From the test results, an increase in the tensile strength of the multi-layer Al-Mg-Al sheets obtained from the asymmetric process was observed. Microhardness tests did not show any significant differences in aluminium layer between respective layers of sheets obtained from the symmetric and the asymmetric process. By contrast, for the magnesium layer, an increase in microhardness from 72 HV to 79 HV could be observed for the asymmetric rolling. The analysis of the produced Al-Mg-Al sheets shows that the good bond between individual layers and grain refinement in the magnesium layer contributed to the obtaining of higher mechanical properties in the multi-layer sheets produced in the asymmetric process compared to the sheets obtained from the symmetric process.

The paper deals with the determination of the oxygen permeability and mechanical properties of butter and curd aluminium paper foils Radaflex applied in the food packaging. Foil Radaflex is a paper foil covered by the aluminium layer. The measurement of the oxygen permeability was realized according to the Standard STN EN 77 0333. The measurement of mechanical properties was realized according to the Standard STN EN ISO 1924-2. Determination of moduli of elasticity in the longitudinal and transversal direction were provided and tensile properties as maximal elongations, maximal tensile forces, tensile strengths, tensile indexes and strain at breaks of the longitudinal and transversal specimens were evaluated. The permeability of pure oxygen through aluminium paper foils was studied. Aluminium paper foil was not permeable for the oxygen.

In this work, a Full Factorial Experimentation technique, Design of Experiment (DOE) was developed and used to control the parameter of RIE (Reactive Ion Etching) process on a silicon wafer with aluminium layer. The objective of this work is to examine the Reactive Ion Etching (RIE) process on aluminium with different parameter, which are temperature, vacuum, RF (Radio Frequency) power and gas flow. Then, AFM (Atomic Force Microscope) and Lambda 950 spectrometer are used to analyse the grain size and light reflectance on the test specimen after RIE process. From the result, all four parameters of RIE were give an effect on grain size and surface reflectance on the test specimen. The parameter of gas flow is the most influence factor for grain size and surface reflectance in RIE process for aluminium layer compared to other parameters in this work.

A vacuum-deposited aluminium layer (about 20nm) is sandwiched between two layers of laminated oriented polyporpylene (OPP) film whose thickness varies from 20 to 40 μm. Selected areas of this sealed system were transparentised by the rearrangement of the aluminium layer without breaking the seal or causing damage to the OPP film using a 75 W Q-swiched neodymumdoped yttrium aluminium garnet laser. This paper investigates the effecst of the laser repetition with changes in experimentally produced laser tracks.
