Background: Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH) is a stigmatizing condition in obstetrics and a significant cause of maternal and neonatal death. It is a kind of pregnancy-related hypertension that develops after 20th week of pregnancy with no presence of other reasons of high blood pressure. Objectives: To study the relation between grades of ocular fundus changes& degree of features severity of pregnancy induced hypertension and its maternal and foetal outcomes. Subjects and Methods: This is a prospective observational follow up study, the research lasted about 16 months and included 121 pregnant women diagnosed with PIH. Ocular examinations were performed using a direct ophthalmoscope, a slit lamp and grades of retinopathy were recorded and linked to the severity of PIH and its consequences. The data were analyzed statistically. Results: Results of the study revealed that most of the patients 62% had no abnormal fundus changes while 29.8% of the patients were grade I retinopathy and 7.4% of the patients were grade II retinopathy & There was significant difference between grades of retinopathy and degree of features of severity of PIH & some of its important maternal & foetal outcomes. Conclusion: Grades of ocular fundus alterations are associated with the severity of PIH's characteristics and are predictive of maternal and fetal comorbidity.

Abstract Background We investigate the SD-OCT features of sub-inner limiting membrane (sub-ILM) hemorrhage after 577nm laser membranotomy. Methods The ocular fundus photography and SD-OCT of patients who received 577nm laser membranotomy for sub-ILM hemorrhage were assessed from January 2017 to March 2021 in this retrospective cases series study. Results Total of 7 patients (7 eyes) were enrolled in this study, in which 3 were female and 4 were male. The SD-OCT of ILM after laser treatment showed two distinctive features: the ILM falling back to retina (4 cases) or persistent unsealed ILM which forming premacular cavity (3 cases). The SD-OCT of macular fovea after laser treatment showed three features: normal contour (3 cases), macular hole (1 cases) and epiretinal membrane (1 case). The outer retina showed “peg-like” or “patchy-like” structure on the site of ILM attached to retina.Conclusions 577nm laser is effective in treating of sub-ILM hemorrhage and SD-OCT is effective for diagnosis and following-up of sub-ILM hemorrhage.

This paper proposes an algorithm for synthesizing a neural network (NN) structure to analyze complex structured, low entropy, ocular fundus images, characterized by iterative tuning of the adaptive model’s solver modules. This algorithm will assist in synthesizing models of NNs that meet the predetermined characteristics of the classification quality. The relevance of automating the process of ocular diagnostics of fundus pathologies is due to the need to develop domestic medical decision-making systems. Because of using the developed algorithm, the NN structure is synthesized, which will include two solver modules, and is intended to classify the dual-alternative information. Automated hybrid NN structures for intelligent segmentation of complex structured, low entropy, retinal images should provide increased efficiency of ocular diagnostics of fundus pathologies, reduce the burden on specialists, and decrease the negative impact of the human factor in diagnosis.

Scanning laser ophthalmoscopes (SLOs) have been available since the early 1990s, but they were not commonly used because their advantages were not enough to replace conventional color fundus photography. In recent years, color SLOs have improved significantly, and the colored SLO images are obtained by combining multiple SLO images taken by lasers of different wavelengths. A combination of these images of different lasers can create an image that is close to that of the real ocular fundus. One advantage of the advanced SLOs is that they can obtain images with a wider view of the ocular fundus while maintaining a high resolution even through non-dilated eyes. The current SLOs are superior to the conventional fundus photography in their ability to image abnormal alterations of the retina and choroid. Thus, the purpose of this review was to present the characteristics of the current color SLOs and to show how that can help in the diagnosis and the following of changes after treatments. To accomplish these goals, we will present our findings in patients with different types of retinochoroidal disorders.
