A determinant representation of the n -fold Darboux transformation for the integrable nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schödinger (DNLS) equation is presented. Using the proposed Darboux transformation, we construct some particular solutions from zero seed, which have not been reported so far for locally integrable systems. We also obtain explicit breathers from a nonzero seed with constant amplitude, deduce the corresponding extended Taylor expansion, and obtain several first-order rogue wave solutions. Our results reveal several interesting phenomena which differ from those emerging from the classical DNLS equation.

This article describes the development of the Hermite method of approximate particular solutions (MAPS) to solve time-dependent convection-diffusion-reaction problems. Using the Crank-Nicholson or the Adams-Moulton method, the time-dependent convection-diffusion-reaction problem is converted into time-independent convection-diffusion-reaction problems for consequent time steps. At each time step, the source term of the time-independent convection-diffusion-reaction problem is approximated by the multiquadric (MQ) particular solution of the biharmonic operator. This is inspired by the Hermite radial basis function collocation method (RBFCM) and traditional MAPS. Therefore, the resultant system matrix is symmetric. Comparisons are made for the solutions of the traditional/Hermite MAPS and RBFCM. The results demonstrate that the Hermite MAPS is the most accurate and stable one for the shape parameter. Finally, the proposed method is applied for solving a nonlinear time-dependent convection-diffusion-reaction problem.

It has been for the first time that an analytical solution to the problem of free vibrations of a cantilevered thick orthotropic plate is presented. This problem is quite cumbersome for using the exact methods of the theory of elasticity; therefore, methods based on the variational approach were developed to solve it. The paper suggests using the superposition method to construct a general solution of the vibration equations of a plate in the series form of particular solutions obtained with the help of a variables separation. The particular solutions of one of the coordinates are built in the form of trigonometric functions of a special type (modified trigonometric system). The constructed solution, in contrast to the solutions known in the literature on the basis of the variational approach, accurately satisfies the equations of vibrations. The use of a modified trigonometric system of functions makes it possible to obtain uniform formulas for even and odd vibration shapes and to reduce the quantity of boundary conditions on the plate sides from twelve to nine ones, while five of the nine boundary conditions are also accurately satisfied. The structure of the presented solution on the plate boundary is such that, each of the kinematic or force characteristics of the plate is represented as a sum of two series, i.e. a trigonometric series and a series in hyperbolic functions. Remaining boundary conditions make it possible to obtain an infinite system of linear algebraic equations with respect to the unknown coefficients of the series representing the solution. The convergence of the solution by the reduction method of the infinite system is investigated numerically. Examples of the numerical implementation are given; numerical studies of the spectrum of natural frequencies of the cantilevered thick plate were carried out based on the obtained solution, both with varying elastic characteristics of the material and with varying geometric parameters.

Abstract In the paper, similarity solutions are constructed for a model equation with multiple characteristics of an arbitrary integer order. It is shown that the structure of similarity solutions depends on the mutual simplicity of the orders of derivatives with respect to the variable x and y, respectively. Frequent cases are considered in which they are shown as fundamental solutions of well-known equations, expressed in a linear way through the constructed similarity solutions.

Abstract The European Green Deal (EGD) is a set of policy initiatives by the European Union with the overarching and ambitious aim of making Europe climate neutral in 2050. Being world’s first ‘climate-neutral bloc’ and fulfilling other goals extending to many different sectors, including construction, biodiversity, energy, transport, food and others has also an impact on different sectors of security. The implementation of the tasks set out in the EGD requires taking into account the necessity of sustainability in reaching the goals, including not violating sectoral security in the EU Member States. Nexus approach might be useful in the processes of finding and implementation of particular solutions.

Statement of the problem. Analytical dependences of the deflection and displacement of the support of a flat lattice truss on the number of panels are being sought. The truss has a double lattice, a rectilinear lower belt and an upper belt raised in the middle part. Results. For two types of loading, according to the Maxwell-Mohr formula, analytical dependences of the deflections of the structure on the load, dimensions and number of panels are obtained. To generalize a series of particular solutions for trusses with different numbers of panels for an arbitrary case, the induction method and the analytical capabilities of the Maple computer mathematics system were used. For some solutions, asymptotic approximations are obtained. The distribution of forces in the rods of the structure is shown. Conclusions. The obtained formulas can be used in optimization problems and as test ones for evaluating approximate numerical solutions. Cases of geometric variability of the truss with the number of panels being a multiple of three are revealed. An algorithm for identifying the corresponding distribution of possible velocities of the joints is presented.

AbstractWe study symmetries, invariant solutions, and conservation laws for the dispersionless Veselov–Novikov equation. The emphasis is placed on cases when the odes involved in description of the invariant solutions are integrable by quadratures. Then we find some non-invariant solutions, in particular, solutions that are polynomials of an arbitrary degree $$N \ge 3$$ N ≥ 3 with respect to the spatial variables. Finally we compute all conservation laws that are associated to cosymmetries of second order.
