Damage to the rotor blade of a steam turbine is a relatively common problem and is one of the leading causes of sudden and unplanned shutdowns of a steam turbine. Therefore, the high reliability of the rotor blades is very important for the safe and economical operation of the steam turbine. To ensure high reliability, it is necessary to perform a vibration analysis of the rotor blades experimentally and in a computer environment. In this paper, a modal analysis was performed on the twisted blade of the last stage of the turbine in the Ansys software. The results of the modal analysis of the stationary rotor blade were compared with the results obtained by the bump test, which confirmed the numerical model of the blade. A modal analysis of a rotating rotor blade was performed on the same numerical model, and Campbell diagrams were plotted to determine the critical speed

Abstract: A steam turbine is a tool that extracts thermal electricity from pressurized steam and makes use of it to do mechanical work on a rotating output shaft. The steam turbine offers the better thermodynamic performance with the aid of the usage of a couple of levels inside the growth of steam. The levels are characterized by using the manner of strength extraction from them is considered as impulse or reaction mills. On this work the parameters of steam turbine blade various and evaluation is carried out for electricity, existence and warmth switch fees. The varied parameters are the ratio of x-axis distance of blade profile with the aid of chord length and ratio of maximum peak of blade profile in y-path to the chord period. The three-D modeling is executed by way of using Catia software program. The Ansys software is used for static, thermal analysis, subsequently concluded the best design and material (haste alloy, chrome steel, inconel 600) for steam turbine blade, after steam turbine blade imported the stl record 1:2 ratio in to 3-d printing we carried out fast prototyping technique. The article considers the repair of the energy gas turbine rotor blade second stage shroud. The paper presents an analysis of the possibility of the repair consisting of the replacement of both labyrinth and honeycomb seals by the high-temperature brazing process. All the steps of the repair process were discussed and the results of microscopic metallographic evaluation using a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope were presented. Several advantages related to the use of this technology were indicated.

Abstract. In this paper, a method to determine the angle of attack on a wind turbine rotor blade using a chordwise pressure distribution measurement was applied. The approach used a reduced number of pressure tap data located close to the blade leading edge. The results were compared with the measurements from three external probes mounted on the blade at different radial positions and with analytical calculations. Both experimental approaches used in this study are based on the 2-D flow assumption; the pressure tap method is an application of the thin airfoil theory, while the probe method applies geometrical and induction corrections to the measurement data. The experiments were conducted in the wind tunnel at the Hermann Föttinger Institut of the Technische Universität Berlin. The research turbine is a three-bladed upwind horizontal axis wind turbine model with a rotor diameter of 3 m. The measurements were carried out at rated conditions with a tip speed ratio of 4.35, and different yaw and pitch angles were tested in order to compare the approaches over a wide range of conditions. Results show that the pressure tap method is suitable and provides a similar angle of attack to the external probe measurements as well as the analytical calculations. This is a significant step for the experimental determination of the local angle of attack, as it eliminates the need for external probes, which affect the flow over the blade and require additional calibration.

Abstract This paper presents a comparison of low- and high-fidelity structural analyses of a 10 MW offshore floating wind turbine rotor blade. For low-fidelity analysis, BeamDyn as a part of the OpenFAST toolset is used. For high-fidelity analysis, the Toolkit for the Analysis of Composite Structures (TACS) finite element method is used. First, several numerical examples with reference solutions from the literature are investigated to compare the accuracy and efficiency of the low- and high-fidelity structural models. Next, the DTU 10 MW reference wind turbine blade is analyzed using both the low- and high-fidelity methods. The bending response of the blade is analyzed. The results show that the high-fidelity model agrees with low-fidelity results and reference solutions. The high-fidelity model represents the deformations more accurately than the low-fidelity model and therefore is appropriate for structural analysis of complex wind turbine blade shapes.
