Student social class identity development is a relatively unexamined aspect of student identity development throughout adolescents’ educational experiences. Negative student social class identity development amongst low-social class adolescent students is increasing along with the growth of dual credit programs. This article will first discuss several negative and positive influences of dual credit programs on adolescent students’ social class identity development. Suggestions of specific dual credit program procedures that may help encourage a more positive social class identity development amongst low-social class students will follow.

Abstract. The purpose of the article is to identify the main factors that constrain lending to enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, to suggest ways to improve their lending system. A systematic approach was chosen as the methodological basis of the study, which provides for a comprehensive study of the bank lending system of the agro-industrial complex. Historical and structural-functional approaches were also used in its analysis. Methods of comparative analysis were used to consider some problems of bank lending to the agro-industrial complex. Of the general scientific methods in this study, methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction were used. The article examines the dynamics and structure of loans to the agro-industrial complex in Ukraine for 2015-2020; the dynamics of interest rates on loans to the agro-industrial complex and the dynamics of agricultural production by UAH 1. credit provision of the agro-industrial complex in Ukraine for 2015-2020. During the analyzed period, these indicators increase or decrease proportionally, as evidenced by the importance of the efficiency of credit support of the agar sector. In 2020, the efficiency of credit provision of the agricultural sector amounted to UAH 11.64, which is UAH 0.4 more than in 2015. The analysis revealed that the agro-industrial complex today has a high need for financial resources. The characteristic of the main problems of the mechanism of crediting of an agro-industrial complex is given. The need to ensure the availability of bank loans has been identified. Stimulating investment lending to agricultural enterprises will have a positive impact on the development of the industry, as well as improve the existing economic situation of rural residents. High demand for credit resources from agricultural producers, the current state and dynamics of lending to the agro-industrial complex in Ukraine allow us to conclude that it is necessary to improve the mechanism of bank loans, develop effective credit products for the agro-industrial complex and strengthen state support for agricultural lending. This article is about community mobilization in microcredit as a tool of women empowerment. It argues that women empowerment is a process and community mobilization is a tool for women empowerment process through micro-credit programs. This article is based on the views of selected key informants’ information through participant observation and a case study at Mahadevsthan Village in Dhading. Three local NGO managers and their three beneficiaries were conveniently selected for the sampling purpose. The main argument of the article shows that most of the females who received microcredit finally got socio-economic empowerment through acquiring access to capital, control over resources, self-esteem, confidence, decision-making power.

PurposeThe study aims to estimate the rates of exposure to, and adoption of, rural bank credit programs by smallholder farmers in rural Ghana and the factors responsible for those rates.Design/methodology/approachThe study used a random sample of 300 smallholder farmers in the Fanteakwa District of Ghana, obtained through the multistage sampling technique. The study also employed the average treatment effects approach to estimate the average treatment effect of farmers’ exposure to rural bank credit programs, on their adoption of such programs.FindingsThe actual adoption rate is approximately 41%, and the potential, conditional on the whole population being aware of rural bank credit programs, is approximately 61%. Accordingly, there is a gap of about 20% in the adoption of rural bank credit programs, and is due to the incomplete exposure of smallholder farmers to the rural bank credit programs. Age of the household head, access to extension services, membership in farmer-based organizations and active savings accounts with a rural bank are the major contributors to smallholder farmer exposure to and the adoption of rural bank credit programs.Originality/valueThe current study is the first of its kind to be conducted in Ghana on rural bank credit programs. It takes into account the extent to which smallholder farmers are exposed to such credit programs and how it influences their decisions to access or adopt.

<p>Acidified rivers may have increased CO2 emissions because their low pH transforms inorganic carbon in the form of bicarbonate anions to CO2, which can evade to the atmosphere, thus interrupting the delivery inorganic carbon to the oceans, a key flux in the long-term carbonate silicate cycle. Enhanced weathering (EW) is a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategy aiming to increase drawdown of atmospheric CO2 through accelerated carbonation weathering of crushed minerals with targeted carbonate sequestration in oceanic stores. To date, EW research has been focused on terrestrial application of crushed minerals, and the CDR capability of enhancing weathering via addition of crushed minerals to rivers from lime dosers is essentially unexplored. Lime dosers have been used for decades to directly deposit crushed carbonate rock to rivers as a function of river flow in Norway and Nova Scotia, Canada, yet their potential as a CDR tool has yet to be verified in the field. In this study, we adapt CO2 flux sensors (eosFD) designed for soils to be deployed in rivers. We conducted field trials on the Killag River, Nova Scotia, upstream and downstream of a lime doser over a period of six weeks in the autumn of 2020. Preliminary analysis shows elevated CO2 evasion rates upstream of the lime doser and decreased evasion rates downstream. Aside from flood waves, CO2 evasion at the downstream (treated) site is reduced to almost zero for extended periods of time. Next steps are to identify whether the reduced CO2 evasion is due to CO2 drawdown via increased carbonation weathering of the crushed dolomite or through reduced CO2 evasion due to increased pH, or from a combination of the two processes. The results of this study may have implications for carbon credit programs for acidification mitigation and may encourage more widespread use of enhanced weathering as a CDR tool in rivers.</p>

Women empowerment is the most significant and examining issues in non-industrial nations extraordinarily in Bangladesh. This study investigated the viability and Correlating Women Empowerment with Micro Finance in a Small Village in Bangladesh by Using Statistical Methodology. With absolute number of 220 respondents, where, 100 was experienced micro credit program and another 120 respondent did not have any experience regarding the micro credit program. Stratified random sampling was used from Aatghar Union porishad under Shaltha Upozilla in Faridpur, Bangladesh and information has been gathered through face to face interview and personal meeting by utilizing overview strategy. By investigating five measurements; monetary decision making, household unit dynamic, physical movement freedom, property ownership and finally, responsibility for political and social awareness the women empowerment was estimated. The outcomes demonstrated the positive impacts of micro credit programs on women strengthening inside different measurements and investigation uncovers that the women empowerment is impacted by the improvement of miniature credit programs in Bangladesh through the selected five measurements.
