While the QCD Lagrangian as the whole is only chirally symmetric, its electric part has larger chiral-spin [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] symmetries. This allows separation of the electric and magnetic interactions in a given reference frame. Artificial truncation of the near-zero modes of the Dirac operator results in the emergence of the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] symmetries in hadron spectrum. This implies that while the confining electric interaction is distributed among all modes of the Dirac operator, the magnetic interaction is located at least predominantly in the near-zero modes. Given this observation one could anticipate that above the pseudocritical temperature, where the near-zero modes of the Dirac operator are suppressed, QCD is [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] symmetric, which means absence of deconfinement in this regime. Solution of the [Formula: see text] QCD on the lattice with a chirally symmetric Dirac operator reveals that indeed in the interval [Formula: see text] QCD is approximately [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] symmetric which implies that degrees of freedom are chirally symmetric quarks bound by the chromoelectric field into color-singlet objects without the chromomagnetic effects. This regime is referred to as a Stringy Fluid. At larger temperatures this emergent symmetry smoothly disappears and QCD approaches the Quark–Gluon Plasma regime with quasifree quarks. The Hadron Gas, the Stringy Fluid and the Quark–Gluon Plasma differ by symmetries, degrees of freedom and properties.

AbstractWe investigate hadronic particle spectra and flow characteristics of heavy-ion reactions in the FAIR/NICA energy range of 1 AGeV ≤ Elab ≤ 10 AGeV within a relativistic ideal hydrodynamic one-fluid approach. The particlization is realized by sampling the Cooper-Frye distribution for a grand canonical hadron gas on a hypersurface of constant energy density. Results of the hydrodynamic calculations for different underlying equations of state are presented and compared with experimental data and microscopic transport simulations. The sensitivity of the approach to physical model inputs concerning the initial state and the particlization is studied.

We review recent advances in the understanding of the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) transition and its nature, paying special attention to the analysis of chiral symmetry restoration within different approaches based on effective theories. After presenting some of the main aspects of the current knowledge of the phase diagram from the theoretical, experimental and lattice sides, we discuss some recent problems where approaches relying on effective theories have been particularly useful. In particular, the combination of ideas such as Chiral Perturbation Theory, unitarity and Ward Identities allows us to describe successfully several observables of interest. This is particularly relevant for quantities expected to be dominated by the light meson components of the hadron gas such as the scalar and topological susceptibilities. In addition, ward identities and effective Lagrangians provide systematic results regarding chiral and U ( 1 ) A partner degeneration properties which are of great importance for the interplay between those two transitions and the nature of chiral symmetry restoration. Special attention is paid to the connection of this theoretical framework with lattice simulations.
