Approach to optimizing ecological monitoring of water quality using indicators of constancy of higher water vegetation (using example of upper course of white river in Bashkortostan republic)

The article provides an analysis of the dynamics of the constancy indicators of representatives of higher aquatic vegetation (VBR) in the upper reaches of the Belaya River (Republic of Bashkortostan) from 2005 to 2019. Constancy indicators of 11 species of BBP (Butomus umbellatus L., 1753; Elodea canadensis Michx., 1803; Najas marina L., 1753; Potamogeton natans L., 1753; Potamogeton perfoliatus L., 1753; Potamogeton crispus L., 1753; Stuckenia pectinata L., 1753; Myriophyllum spicatum L., 1753; Lemna minor L., 1753; Spirodela polyrhiza Schleid., 1839 and Ceratophyllum demersum L., 1753) were registered in the areas of 2 state water posts the Shushpa railway station and the Arsky Kamen recreation house. In the course of research, for the first time, lists of permanent, additional and random species of BBP were compiled, correlation-regression models of the relationships between the constancy indicators of representatives of higher aquatic vegetation with the content of chemicals were calculated, the pollutants most strongly affecting the constancy indicators of representatives of BBP were identified, determined in the water of the upper course of the Belaya River.

CHECKLIST OF HIGHER AQUATIC PLANTS OF OMSK REGION

The article presents the results of generalizing the factual material on the diversity of hydromacrophytes from the divisions Marchantiophyta, Bryophyta and Magnoliophyta in the territory of the Omsk region. For each species the geographical frequency of occurrence in natural zones, the group of halobility and trophicity are indicated. For the region 176 species of higher hydromacrophytes have been identified. The division Magnoliophyta is distinguished by the greatest species diversity, which includes 116 species (65.9% of all higher hydromacrophytes), the division Bryophyta accounts for 49 species (27.9%), Marchantiophyta – 7 (4.0%), the divisions Equisetophyta and Polypodiophyta include only 2 species each (1.1%). Currently in the region 24 species of higher hydromacrophytes are included in the number of protected species with an established category of protection or as species that need special attention to their state and natural environment. In total, the following moss species are known from several habitats: Riccia fluitans, R. frostii, R. rhenana, Ricciocarpos natans, Fissidens adianthoides, Paludella squarrosa and vascular plants: Ceratophyllum platyacanthum subsp. oryzetorum, Elatine hydropiper, Veronica beccabunga, Najas marina, Sagittaria trifolia, Potamogeton rutilus, including brackish Ruppia maritima, Althenia orientalis, Zannichellia palustris var. repens.

New floristic records from Central Europe 8 (reports 109-121)

The presented eighth part of the series includes thirteen new chorological records of vascular plants, one from Hungary, six from Poland and six from Slovakia. In Hungary, Ventenata dubia is reported. In Poland, two native taxa Bolboschoenus planiculmis and Najas marina subsp. marina and four alien taxa Buddleja davidii, Lupinus ehrenbergii var. ehrenbergii, Miscanthus sacchariflorus and Sedum sarmentosum are reported. In Slovakia, two native taxa Taraxacum paucilobum with distribution map and Cotoneaster integerrimus are reported as well as four alien taxa Azolla filiculoides, Eichhornia crassipes, Euphorbia prostrata and Pistia stratioites.

Lateglacial and Holocene floras and faunas from the Salpetermosen area, north-east Sjælland, Denmark

The Salpetermosen area in north-east Sjælland, Denmark, was deglaciated about 18 000 to 17 000 years ago. Melting of bodies of stagnant glacier ice led to the for-mation of kettle holes, which contain Lateglacial and Holocene sediments with remains of plants and animals that provide information on the past flora and fauna of the area. During the Allerød period, open forests with Betula pubescens (downy birch) characterised the area, the flora included light-demanding species such as Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (bearberry), Empetrum nigrum (crowberry) and rare Populus tremula (aspen), Betula nana (dwarf birch) and Rubus saxatilis (stone bramble), as well as the thermophilous swamp plant Oenanthe aquatica (fine-leaved water dropwort). During the Younger Dryas, the vegetation was characterised by dwarf-shrub heaths dominated by Betula nana, but including Dryas octopetala (mountain avens), Salix herbacea (least willow), Arctostaphylos alpina (alpine bearberry,) and rare Betula pube-scens, as well as the thermophilous plants Urtica dioeca (stinging nettle) and Lychnis flos-cuculi (ragged robin). The Early Holocene forests were dominated by Betula pubescens, Populus tremula and Pinus sylvestris (scots pine), but included rare Betula nana. Alnus glutinosa (alder) arrived at c. 10 000 cal. years BP. The calciphilous sedge Cladium mariscus (fen-sedge) and the macrolimnophyte Najas marina (spiny naiad) were common. The Late Holocene flora included the acidophilous plant Scheuchzeria palustris (rannoch-rush).

Late Quaternary history of Lammefjorden, north-west Sjælland, Denmark

Lammefjorden is a reclaimed fjord in north-west Sjælland, Denmark. Sediment cores from the area were collected to study its development after the last deglaciation, in particular the sea-level history. Late glacial and Early Holocene lake and bog deposits occur below marine deposits. Sparse late glacial fossil assemblages indicate tree-less environments with dwarf-shrub heaths. Early Holocene deposits contain remains of Betula sec. Albae sp. and Pinus sylvestris, which indicate open forests. The wetland flora comprised the calciphilous reed plant Cladium mariscus and the water plant Najas marina. Marine gyttja from basins is characterised by sparse benthic faunas, probably due to high sedimentation rates. In some areas, shell-rich deposits were found, with large shells of Ostrea edulis, indicative of high summer temperatures, high salinity and strong tidal currents. A marine shell dated to 6.7 cal. ka provides a minimum age for the marine transgression of Lammefjorden.

Primer registro de Najas marina (Hydrocharitaceae) y listado florístico de hidrófitas sumergidas en el Bajo Paraná (Argentina)

Se comunica el registro de Najas marina L., una hidrófita completamente sumergida, en el Bajo Paraná (Argentina) como nueva cita para su flora y se revisan brevemente aspectos de su ecología (rasgos biológicos, hábitat y distribución). Además, se presen- ta un listado de las 24 especies de hidrófitas sumergidas (en 12 familias y 15 géneros) que han sido registradas para la extensa planicie de inundación del Bajo Paraná.

СТРУКТУРА ВОДНОЇ ФЛОРИ ВОДОТОКІВ КІЛІЙСЬКОЇ ДЕЛЬТИ ДУНАЮ

Здійснено структурно-порівняльний аналіз таксономічної, екологічної та географічної структури флори водотоків Кілійської дельти Дунаю. Конспект досліджуваної флори нараховує 41 вид з 27 родів, 21 родин, 16 порядків, 4 класів та 3 відділів. Проаналізовано таксономічний склад основних таксономічних одиниць, та співвідношення між ними: відділ Magnoliophyta переважає (90.2 %), в межах якого домінує клас Liliopsida (83.8%). До перших трьох провідних родин належать Potamogetonaceae, Lemnaceae та Hydrocharitaceae, які складають 36.6% від загальної кількості флори У складі флори представлені шість видів адвентивної фракції – один археофіт (Acorus calamus L.) і п’ять кенофітів (Azolla caroliniana Willd., Azolla filiculoides Lamark., Elodea canadensis Michx., Sagittaria latifolia Willd., Vallisneria spiralis L.). Рідкісні рослини, що охороняються на території всієї України у водотоках КДД представлені трьома видами: Salvinia natans (L.) All., Nymphoides peltata (S.G.Gmel.) Kuntze та Trара natans L. s.l. До регіонально рідкісних видів, які охороняються тільки на території Одеської області належать ще п’ять видів: Lemna gibba L. (вразливий), Bolboschoenus maritimus (L.) Palla (недостатньо вивчений), Najas marina L. (недостатньо вивчений), Potamogeton gramineus L. ( недостатньо вивчений), Typha grossheimii Pobed. ( недостатньо вивчений). Екологічна структура представлена трьома екотипами, серед яких найбільше гідрофітів – 23 (56.1 %). В ньому переважає екогрупа вільно плаваючі на поверхні води (22%). Співвідношення екотипів гідрофіти, гелофіти, гігрогелофіти складає 4:2:1. В хорологічному спектрі зональних географічних груп найбільша кількість видів відноситься до плюризональної групи – 18 видів (44%). Серед регіональних груп переважає циркумполярне поширення, його мають також 18 видів (44%). За характером розміщення ареалів видів в океанічних або внутрішніх водоймах найбільша кількість видів належить індиферентній до континентальності та океанічності групі. Подібний спектр є характерним для водної флори України та для інших флор різних регіонів помірної зони Євразії.
