Objective: ADHD and its associated inhibition deficits might promote creativity. However, results in the literature are conflicting, possibly due to the heterogeneity of ADHD. To control for this heterogeneity, creativity, and inhibition were investigated in the predominantly inattentive (ADHD-I) and combined (ADHD-C) presentations. Method: Participants were males/females aged 18 to 51, diagnosed with ADHD-I ( n = 21), ADHD-C ( n = 19), or without ADHD ( n = 43). Self-rated Kaufman Domains of Creativity Scale and evaluator-rated figural Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) were used for measuring creativity, Stroop task for inhibition, and Conners’ Adult ADHD Rating Scales for ADHD symptoms. Results: The ADHD-C group reported higher self-rated creativity than other groups and made more original drawings paired to more abstract titles in the figural TTCT than controls. Conclusion: ADHD-C participants were the most creative. This result was more importantly associated with higher degrees of ADHD symptoms rather than poorer inhibition.

The article is a continuation of the series of publications on the genus Galerina in Ukraine. In previous publications, those species were considered that are grouped by the presence of remarkable morphological features, for example, tibiiform cystidia, pleurocystidia, or calyptrate spores. This article reports the species of the genus Galerina without any noticeable peculiarities (G. cephalotricha, G. norvegica, G. pumila, and G. triscopa), as well as few recently found in Ukraine species possessing pleurocystidia (G. karstenii) and tibiiform cystidia (G. hybrida and G. tibiicystis) recorded after the relevant articles have been published. The infrageneric position of many of the considered here species still remains indeterminate. For all reported species, their diagnoses, locality data in Ukraine, general distribution in the world, as well as original drawings of their carpophores and microstructures, are provided.

Currently, Coluber monticolus Cantor is considered a junior synonym of the Common kukri snake, Oligodon arnensis Shaw. In this work, we analyzed long time disregarded, unpublished original drawings and manuscripts concerning South Asian snakes. Additionally we recall the hitherto little-noticed contact and exchange between B. H. Hodgson and T. E. Cantor. We correct erroneous assumptions regarding the authorship and identity of C. monticolus and, in accordance with Art. 23.9 of the “Code” (ICZN 1999), we declare Dipsas multifasciata Blyth a nomen protectum with priority over Coluber monticolus Hodgson in Cantor (nomen oblitum).

In literature there are many access points that can be performed either as free hand, with navigation or with help of localizing devices. A thorough knowledge of these access points, their history, external landmarks, trajectories and indications will help to manage all cases requiring ventricular drainage. This article discusses only the points for external ventricular access for the ventricles highlighting with original diagrams where available, the different access sites. Kocher’s / Tillman’s / Neisser and Pollack, Von Bergman/ Kaufman’s, Tubbs’/ Navarro/ Wilson point, Bohl's, Sanchez’s points, Frazier’s, Dandy’s and Keen’s points are discussed along with original drawings where available.

The article outlines the details on several noteworthy records of corticoid fungi discovered in the course of mycological observations in Prypiat-Stokhid National Nature Park (Liubeshiv District, Volyn Region) in October, 2019. In Ukraine, Byssocorticium atrovirens is apparently known only from a single record of A. Pilat, 1933, from the present-day territory of Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. Piloderma bicolor has been earlier recorded only once from Skole Beskids National Nature Park, while Tomentella lilacinogrisea has been previously found in a single locality in Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. The data on detailed morphological descriptions, ecological peculiarities, substrate specialization, general distribution, photographs of basidiomata and original drawings of microstructures are provided.

The article provides information on distribution of some noteworthy representatives of the genus Galerina in Ukraine. This genus is still rather fragmentarily studied in the country, therefore it is a subject of a series of special articles. The previous two articles, on the species of Galerina with tibiiform cheilocystidia and those possessing pleurocystidia, have already been published. This article reports species with so-called calyptrate spores. In these spores, the outer layer of the spore wall (perisporium) is separated from the main wall to form blisters at the basal (sometimes also apical) part of the spore. One of the reported species, Galerina sahleri, was found for the first time in Ukraine; other three species (G. cerina, G. hypnorum, and G. sphagnicola) were recorded in new localities. All these fungi are bryotrophic, often sphagnicolous. Their diagnoses, data about finds in Ukraine and general distribution as well as original drawings of the fruit bodies and microstructures are provided.

An outstanding cultural promoter, collector and patron of the arts in his native Spain, Gaspar de Haro y Guzmán (1629–87), 7th Marquess del Carpio, left his mark as ambassador in Rome (1677–82) and as viceroy in Naples (1682–7). In Italy, Carpio assembled forty-three volumes of drawings, of which only four, including SAL ms 879, have been spared dismemberment. Yet, lumping the ‘Carpio Album’ together with the nobleman’s collection of original drawings completely misses the point. Unlike the others, which were assembled to boost Carpio’s connoisseurship of Italian art, the Album was commissioned to showcase the collection of (largely antique) sculpture he had acquired in Rome and the series of modern fountains he commissioned, also in Rome. Like Vincenzo Giustiniani’s epoch-making Galleria Giustiniana of 1636–7, the Album was to be printed. The marquess’s departure for Naples cut short an ambitious publication project, the theoretical background and pedagogic scope of which have been largely overlooked. The attribution of drawings to artists Philipp Schor and Paolo De Matteis, amongst others, underlines the complex cultural agenda underpinning an Album conceived to reinstate the Roma antica myth by linking it to its Roma moderna counterpart. A new understanding of De Matteis’s artistry and objectives in configuring the Album is complemented with findings regarding Carpio’s commissioning or acquisition of antique, pseudo-antique and modern sculpture. The collection’s fateful dispersal helps unravel the Album’s most likely provenance.

ABSTRACT Distinctive and taxonomically relevant morphological differences exist between the original drawings of Archaeoglobigerina cretacea illustrated by d'Orbigny (1840) and the lectotype designated by Banner & Blow (1960), particularly regarding the equatorial periphery, which is rounded in the former and double-keeled in the latter specimen. Such differences would suggest that they are not conspecific, but this hypothesis cannot be easily tested because d'Orbigny's drawings likely represent a synthesis of observations on several specimens rather than a single individual and the slide intended to contain the lectotype is empty. In this study, we have re-examined the A. cretacea type specimens deposited in the d'Orbigny collection at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris and samples from one of the type localities (Kent, SE England) with the aim to reconstruct d'Orbigny's species concept, clarify its morphological features, and better constrain its stratigraphic distribution. Our study suggests that d'Orbigny's concept for A. cretacea was broad and included unkeeled as well as double-keeled morphotypes. However, assemblages from Kent yield common and large-sized specimens conspecific with the lectotype in the middle Santonian-lower Campanian, while morphotypes resembling the drawings of d'Orbigny are absent. Accordingly, five topotype specimens from the lower Campanian of Kent are herein illustrated in order to stabilize the species concept adopted over the last 60 years on the basis of the lectotype drawing and description. All topotypes possess a wide imperforate peripheral band and a moderately to weakly developed double-keeled periphery. Finally, the description of A. cretacea is emended to exclude specimens that do not possess an imperforate peripheral band and to include those that show curved and weakly beaded spiral sutures.
