<p style='text-indent:20px;'>In this paper, we introduce three new iterative methods for finding a common point of the set of fixed points of a symmetric generalized hybrid mapping and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in a real Hilbert space. Each method can be considered as an combination of Ishikawa's process with the proximal point algorithm, the extragradient algorithm with or without linesearch. Under certain conditions on parameters, the iteration sequences generated by the proposed methods are proved to be weakly convergent to a solution of the problem. These results extend the previous results given in the literature. A numerical example is also provided to illustrate the proposed algorithms.</p>

The CQ algorithm is widely used in the scientific field and has a significant impact on phase retrieval, medical image reconstruction, signal processing, etc. Moudafi proposed an alternating CQ algorithm to solve the split equality problem, but he only obtained the result of weak convergence. The work of this paper is to improve his algorithm so that the generated iterative sequence can converge strongly.

In this paper, we are concerned with the multiple-sets split common fixed-point problems whenever the involved mappings are demicontractive. We first study several properties of demicontractive mappings and particularly their connection with directed mappings. By making use of these properties, we propose some new iterative methods for solving multiple-sets split common fixed-point problems, as well as multiple-sets spit feasibility problems. Under mild conditions, we establish their weak convergence of the proposed methods.

AbstractWe prove that for antisymmetric vector field $$\Omega $$ Ω with small $$L^2$$ L 2 -norm there exists a gauge $$A \in L^\infty \cap {\dot{W}}^{1/2,2}({\mathbb {R}}^1,GL(N))$$ A ∈ L ∞ ∩ W ˙ 1 / 2 , 2 ( R 1 , G L ( N ) ) such that $$\begin{aligned} {\text {div}}_{\frac{1}{2}} (A\Omega - d_{\frac{1}{2}} A) = 0. \end{aligned}$$ div 1 2 ( A Ω - d 1 2 A ) = 0 . This extends a celebrated theorem by Rivière to the nonlocal case and provides conservation laws for a class of nonlocal equations with antisymmetric potentials, as well as stability under weak convergence.

In this paper, we present a new modified iteration process in the setting of uniformly convex Banach space. The newly obtained iteration process can be used to approximate a common fixed point of three nonexpansive mappings. We have obtained strong and weak convergence results for three nonexpansive mappings. Additionally, we have provided an example to support the theoretical proof. In the process, several relevant results are improved and generalized.

AbstractRegular variation provides a convenient theoretical framework for studying large events. In the multivariate setting, the spectral measure characterizes the dependence structure of the extremes. This measure gathers information on the localization of extreme events and often has sparse support since severe events do not simultaneously occur in all directions. However, it is defined through weak convergence, which does not provide a natural way to capture this sparsity structure. In this paper, we introduce the notion of sparse regular variation, which makes it possible to better learn the dependence structure of extreme events. This concept is based on the Euclidean projection onto the simplex, for which efficient algorithms are known. We prove that under mild assumptions sparse regular variation and regular variation are equivalent notions, and we establish several results for sparsely regularly varying random vectors.

AbstractRandom intersection graphs model networks with communities, assuming an underlying bipartite structure of communities and individuals, where these communities may overlap. We generalize the model, allowing for arbitrary community structures within the communities. In our new model, communities may overlap, and they have their own internal structure described by arbitrary finite community graphs. Our model turns out to be tractable. We analyze the overlapping structure of the communities, show local weak convergence (including convergence of subgraph counts), and derive the asymptotic degree distribution and the local clustering coefficient.
