Abstract Approximate computing is a modern techniques for design of low power efficient arithmetic circuits for portable error resilient applications. In this work, we have proposed a Adaptive Parallel Mid-Point Filter (APMPF) architecture using proposed imprecise Max-Min Estimator (MME)targeting digital image processing. Parallel architecture for the MME can trade-off hardware at the expense of accuracy are proposed and used in the proposed APMPF. In APMPF, we use three level of sorting to estimate the mid-point of 3 x 3 window. Switching based trimmed filter is proposed for precise estimation of the selected window. Experimental Results interms of Area, Power and Delay with 90nm ASIC technology exposed that to the least, Proposed filters demonstrate 7% and 9% Area Delay Product (ADP) and Power Delay Product (PDP) reductions, respectively, compared to precise filter design.

AbstractThe precise estimation of geodetic parameters using single- and double-differenced SLR observations is investigated. While the differencing of observables is a standard approach for the GNSS processing, double differences of simultaneous SLR observations are practically impossible to obtain due to the SLR basic principle of observing one satellite at a time. Despite this, the availability of co-located SLR telescopes and the use of the alternative concept of quasi-simultaneity allow the forming of SLR differences under certain assumptions, thus enabling the use of these processing strategies. These differences are in principle almost free of both, satellite- and station-specific error sources, and are shown to be a valuable tool to obtain relative coordinates and range biases, and to validate local ties. Tested with the two co-located SLR telescopes at the Geodetic Observatory Wettzell (Germany) using SLR observations to GLONASS and LAGEOS, the developed differencing approach shows that it is possible to obtain single- and double-difference residuals at the millimetre level, and that it is possible to estimate parameters, such as range biases at the stations and the local baseline vector with a precision at the millimetre level and an accuracy comparable to traditional terrestrial survey methods. The presented SLR differences constitute a valuable alternative for the monitoring of the local baselines and the estimation of geodetic parameters.

Development plays a significant role in working out national projects in the field of house-building aimed at providing high-quality and affordable housing for the population of Russia. The key indicator for the development project is its cost, which affects both affordability for the population and finance and economic figures of the developer. Therefore, the system of cost management in the development company shall be formalized on the basis of design parameters, characterizing the project cost at all stages of the life cycle. The article proposes to use four interconnected indicators, the precise estimation of the project cost is assumed to be the principle one in the research. The authors worked out the model of development project cost management with due regard to stages of its life cycle, showed key events and relevant control points to assess precision, investigated and described methods of cost estimation at certain stages of the project life cycle (PLC). On the basis of real development projects they analyzed precision of cost estimation by stages of life cycle and plotted the graph ‘precision funnel’. The general positive dynamics in precise cost estimation was discovered, however the range of indicator incoherence would not allow us to adopt universal recommendations on its appraisal. The analysis showed the necessity to improve precision of cost estimation at early stages of project life cycles, which impacts the efficiency of the development project.

In Orthodontics, initial classification of malocclusions was based on planar malocclusions in the anteroposterior, transverse and vertical planes that were based only on translation of the jaws in space. In 2007, Ackermann and Proffit introduced rotational components—roll, pitch, and yaw—analogous to the position of the airplane in space. These rotations can result in canting of the occlusal plane. There are no quantitative methods available in the literature for a precise estimation of the occlusal cant. Qualitative evaluation of occlusal cant is subjective and is associated with inter-individual variations. This article describes an indigenously devised simple chairside device that can quantify cant of the occlusal plane in terms of the roll and pitch in degrees. There is accurate quantification of cant, which can be used effectively in many clinical scenarios.

Background: Several studies have reported a possible association of the miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism with Breast Cancer (BC) development. However, the correlation between this polymorphism and susceptibility to BC is under debate. The current meta-analysis was designed and performed to more conclusively evaluate the miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and its potential link to BC. Methods: Our team has selected eligible studies (published up to October 2, 2020) from several electronic databases, including Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar. A total number of 9,545 BC cases and 10,030 controls extracted from 26 eligible articles were included in this study. We utilized pooled Odds Ratios (ORs) as well as 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) under five genetic models for quantitative estimation of any possible association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and BC. Results: Based on this meta-analysis, our findings suggest that there is no significant association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and BC risk. However, stratified analysis revealed that the rs2910164 polymorphism significantly increased the risk of BC in hospital-based studies using the homozygous genetic model (OR=1.37, 95%CI=1.01-1.86, p=0.043, CC vs. GG). Neither Asian nor Caucasian populations showed any significant association between rs2910164 polymorphism and BC susceptibility. Conclusion: In summary, our findings suggest that BC development is not associated with miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism. However, larger ingenious future investigations might be needed for a more precise estimation of any association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and BC.
