Problem-Solving With Data and Information

This chapter begins by looking at how humans learn and solve problems with data and information. However, the authors note that the actual steps for problem-solving remain a mystery to most problem solvers. They also look at learning and problem solving with technology in this chapter. This chapter also presents digital advisors as a breakthrough technology for assisting humans in problem solving. While promising, this approach relies on humans to ask the right questions. At the end of this chapter, the authors saw that computer-based Socratic problem solving addresses this shortcoming by guiding the user through all the “right” questions needing answers to solve the problem at hand.

The article is devoted to topical issues of complex solutions and implementation of modern technologies in the field of education. According to the author, blockchain, as one of the main elements of digitalization, can become a kind of impetus for the educational sphere, a breakthrough technology, which are extremely necessary in the modern world, the coronavirus pandemic. The author agrees with the researchers who believe that it is the blockchain that makes it possible to create a more secure, open and efficient educational system that is trustworthy all over the world. The article analyzes the pros and cons of blockchain, assesses modern education policy, provides examples of the practice of using blockchain in different countries.

Image-Enhanced Capsule Endoscopy Improves the Identification of Small Intestinal Lesions

Image-enhanced endoscopy is useful for diagnosing and identifying lesions in the gastrointestinal tract. Recently, image-enhanced endoscopy has become a breakthrough technology that has attracted significant attention. This image enhancing technology is available for capsule endoscopy, which is an effective tool for small intestinal lesions and has been applied in flexible spectral color enhancement technology and in contrast capsule like narrow-band imaging. In this field, most researchers focus on improving the visibility and detection of small intestinal lesions. This review summarizes previous studies on image-enhanced capsule endoscopy and aims to evaluate the efficacy of this technology.

The Development and Application of a Base Editor in Biomedicine

Using a base editor to generate monogenic disease models and correct pathogenic point mutations is a breakthrough technology for exploration and treatment of human diseases. As a burgeoning approach for genomic modification, the fused CRISPR/Cas9 with various deaminase separately has significantly increased the efficiency of producing a precise point mutation with minimal insertions or deletions (indels). Along with the flexibility and efficiency, a base editor has been widely used in many fields. This review discusses the recent development of a base editor, including evolution and advance, and highlights the applications and challenges in the field of gene therapy. Depending on rapid improvement and optimization of gene editing technology, the prospect of base editor is immeasurable.
