Biometric technology is a contemporary method of identifying and verifying individuals by studying human behavior. The study is focused on primary data obtained at random from numerous employees working, and appropriate questionnaires are provided for additional analysis. As the safety of both persons and corporate assets grows more important, biometrics devices are becoming increasingly promising. The study will help in understanding whether biometric devices will not only just fulfill the basic purpose of identification and verification but rather help in influencing employees to work efficiently by critically evaluating their behavior and result in a positive impact on the organization's productivity. The study finds that biometric technology may be regarded as one of the characteristics of competitive advantage. Because of its low cost, reliability, and responsiveness, the technology is viewed as a method of boosting an organization's security, dependability, cost-effectiveness, and productivity, necessitating a promotion and marketing strategy. Using biometric equipment, the research investigates the effects and performance of employees. According to the findings of the survey, employees are more interested in working for a company that offers flexible scheduling. The study also discovers that the market growth of biometric devices is promising. The research was carried out utilizing qualitative methods.

AbstractThe car of the future will be driven by software and offer a variety of customisation options. Enabling these customisation options forces modern automotive manufacturers to update their standardised scheduling concepts for testing and commissioning cars. A flexible scheduling concept means that every chosen customer configuration code must have its own testing procedure. This concept is essential to provide individual testing workflows where the time and resources are optimised for every car. Manual scheduling is complicated due to constraints on time, predecessor-successor relationships, mutual exclusion criteria, resources and status conditions on the car engineering and assembly line. Applied methods to handle the mathematical formulation for the corresponding industrial optimisation problem and its implementation are not yet available. This paper presents a procedure for automated and non-preemptive scheduling in the testing and commissioning of cars, which is built on a Boolean satisfiability problem on parallel and identical machines with temporal and resource constraints. The presented method is successfully implemented and evaluated on a variant assembly line of an automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer. This paper is the starting point for an automated workflow planning and scheduling process in automotive manufacturing.

Abstract Recruiting persons living with dementia (PLWD) and their caregivers (dyads) into research is challenging and costly. The purpose of this study was to better understand factors that influence dyads decisions to enroll in a clinical trial. We used Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to develop a qualitative interview guide and analyze the data with a directed content analysis. We conducted semi-structured telephone interviews with 12 PLWD and 9 caregivers who all enrolled in one clinical trial. Aligning with the TPB we found the following positively influenced enrollment: 1) wanting to learn, in-person meetings with knowledgeable staff, and the money always helps (attitudes toward joining); 2) to support another person (perceived norm); and 3) easy to participate (perceived behavioral control). Flexible scheduling and the study taking place in the home was comfortable and convenient for participants. Findings can inform future recruitment efforts and research studies.

Recently, cloud computing has become the most common platform in the computing world. scheduling is one of the most important mechanism for managing cloud resources. Scheduling mechanism is a mechanism for scheduling user tasks among datacenters, host and virtual machines (VMs) and is an NP completeness problem. Most of existing mechanisms are heuristic and meta-heuristic methods, developed to address a part of scheduling problem and did not consider the dynamic creation of VMs by taking into account the required resources for a user task and the capabilities of a set of available hosts. To deal with this dynamic behavior, this paper introduces a new mechanism that uses a genetic algorithm (GA) for establishing a flexible scheduling mechanism that can adapt the dynamic number of VMs based on the required resources by user tasks and the available resources of hosts. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can distribute any number of user tasks on the available resources and it achieves better performance than existing algorithms in terms of response time, makespan, FlowTime, throughput, and resource utilization.

We conducted semi-structured telephone interviews with 12 PLWD and 9 caregivers and utilized directed content analysis. Categories connected with positive attitudes about study enrollment were personal desires of wanting to learn and in-person meetings with knowledgeable staff. Additionally, participants said the money always helps in terms of the financial incentive. Participants reported enrolling to support another person (perceived norm). Study requirements were thought to be easy (perceived behavioral control). Participants highlighted the importance of flexible scheduling and study tasks being completed at their home. Findings can inform future recruitment efforts and should be investigated as effective recruitment methods in other clinical trials.

Flexible scheduling in school libraries can provide a mechanism for achieving the learning goals and objectives of both the school library program and the curriculum by making information available at the point of need and by promoting use of the library and its services at a relevant moment instead of on a predetermined schedule. This study examined the successful implementation of flexible scheduling in six elementary schools where no funding was received to support implementation. Telephone interviews with librarians, principals, and teachers provided the data. The preliminary results indicate that, in those schools with successful implementations, flexible scheduling was only a tool to achieve another internal curricular objective, such as curriculum integration or literacy improvement. In addition, education of stakeholders is essential; and it must emphasize strategies for effective use of the programs supported by flexible scheduling and their potential learning outcomes rather than simply provide information on how flexible scheduling works.
