The genus Homoeoxipha contains 11 species worldwide with 4 recorded from China. In this study, we reconstructed the gene tree based on COI gene, and reported one new species, H. oscillantenna He sp. nov. The new species is similar to H. eurylobus Ma, Liu & Zhang, but differs in the color of fore femur and the structure of male genitalia. Calling songs and nymph morphology are also provided. The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Biology, East China Normal University (ECNU).

Two new mayfly species of Clypeocaenis (Ephemeroptera: Caenidae) are described based on nymphal and adult characters from Kaveri River, Kodagu, Karnataka, Southern India. The main characteristics that distinguish Clypeocaenis kaveri sp. nov. from other Oriental species are: (i) fore femur with 4 long spines at middle of inner margin, a row of bifid spines at outer margin and row of bifid spines at subapical surface; (ii) dorsal surface of femora with complete transverse row of bifid setae located 3/4 distance from the base; (iii) forceps smaller than penis lobe. The main characteristics that distinguish Clypeocaenis napoklu sp. nov. from other Oriental species are: (i) fore femur with 2 long spines at middle of inner margin and row of thin setae on outer margin; segment 2 with bifid spine at apex.(ii) dorsal surface of femora with incomplete transverse row of bifid setae located 2/3 distance from the base; (iii) forceps little longer than penis lobe. A key for the nymphs of described species has been provided.

Investigations of type material and new material from the Philippines (Luzon) revealed that Baetis luzonensis Müller-Liebenau, 1982 and B. realonae Müller-Liebenau, 1982 do not belong to Baetis Leach, 1815. A new genus, Philibaetisgen. nov., is described to accommodate both species and both are re-described based on larvae. The new genus is characterised by having a rectangular labrum with a submarginal row of long, simple setae on the dorsal surface and ventrally on lateral margins long, simple, spine-like setae, on anterolateral margins long, feathered setae and medially long, bifid setae and a partial, submarginal row of lanceolate setae. Both mandibles have blade-like incisors and dorsally, a mediolateral patch of long, spine-like setae; additionally, the left mandible has a tuft of long, partly branched setae at the base of the subtriangular process. Philibaetisgen. nov. is further characterised by a hypopharynx with a medial tuft of stout setae and anterolaterally, two smaller tufts of stout setae, a galea-lacinia with the distal denti-seta tooth-like and directed against canines, a fore femur apically with stout setae, both on anterior and posterior side and without a femoral patch and a claw with one row of denticles and two or three subapical setae. The protogonostyli under the cuticle of male last instar larvae are folded in the Labiobaetis type, excluding their affiliation to the genus Baetis. COI sequences were obtained from both species. The genetic distance (Kimura 2-parameter) between them is 17.5% on average. Very limited genetic distances of 0% to 3% (0.75% on average) were found between specimens of P. luzonensiscomb. nov.

A new fossil species of Anthomyzidae (Diptera), viz. Protanthomyza ryszardi sp. nov. is described from Baltic amber (Eocene, 48–34 Ma) on the basis of one male and one female inclusion found in the same amber specimen. This is the tenth species of the extinct genus Protanthomyza Hennig, 1965 and extinct subfamily Protanthomyzinae Roháček, 1998. It belongs to a group lacking a ctenidial spine on fore femur. Based on analysis of morphological characters the relationships of the new species are discussed. Its discovery expands again the diversity of Anthomyzidae known to occur in the Eocene ‘Baltic amber forestʼ.

A new fossil species, Protanthomyza grimaldiisp. nov. (Diptera, Anthomyzidae), is described from Baltic amber (Eocene, 48–34 Ma) based on two (male and female) inclusions. It is the ninth species of the †genus Protanthomyza Hennig, 1965 and †subfamily Protanthomyzinae Roháček, 1998. Adult morphology of P. grimaldiisp. nov. revealed that the rich chaetotaxy of the thoracic pleuron, two anal veins and presence of the anteroventral process of the epandrium are plausibly shared by all species of Protanthomyza. Relationships of the new species, which belongs to a group lacking the ctenidial spine on the fore femur, are discussed.

A new mayfly species, Rhoenanthus (Rhoenanthus) tungaiensis sp. nov. is described and characterized at the larval stage by fore tibiae relatively long with dense hair like setae on dorsal and lateral surface, male compound eyes large, mandibular tusks 0.8 times longer than head length, segment I of maxillary palpi 1.7 times longer than segment II, fore femur 2.9 times longer than its greatest width, gill III with 46–48 marginal fibrillae on lateral margin of dorsal lamellae and 35–37 on ventral lamellae. At the imaginal stage, the new species can be separated by inverted bell shaped markings on terga, purplish brown intercalaries in forewings, costal cross veins reddish brown and infuscated, MP2 connected to CuA basally.

Abstract The fauna of bristletails of the genus Lepismachilis Verhoeff, 1910 in Montenegro and Serbia includes only one species L. (Berlesilis) targionii (Grassi, 1887) with 2 + 2 eversible vesicles on abdominal urocoxites II–VI. Three new species of this genus are described: L. (Lepismachilis) prijepolja sp. nov., L. (Lepismachilis) limensa sp. nov. from Serbia, and L. (Lepismachilis) alexandrae sp. nov. from Montenegro. All described new species belong to the species group of the subgenus Lepismachilis s. str. with 2 + 2 eversible vesicles on abdominal urocoxites II–V. Lepismachilis prijepolja sp. nov. differs from L. y-signata Kratochvíl, 1945 and L. notata Stach, 1919 by the color, drawings and ratios of the compound eyes; ratios of sensory field on fore femur of male, number of divisions of ovipositor. Lepismachilis limensa sp. nov. differs from L. hauseri Bitsch, 1974 and L. abchasica Kaplin, 2017 by ratios of paired ocelli, sensory field on fore femur of male; ratios and chaetotaxy of maxillary and labial palps. Lepismachilis alexandrae sp. nov. differs from L. abchasica by the drawings of the compound eyes; ratios of paired ocelli, sensory field on fore femur of male; number of divisions of the parameres and gonapophyses. A list of the Machilidae occurring in Balkan Peninsula is also provided.

Metrocoris sikkimensis sp. nov. is described from Sikkim, northeastern India, compared with similar species, included in an identification key and its geographical distribution is mapped. This species is assigned to the Metrocoris compar group based on the venter of the body entirely blackish and the male fore femur slender and unarmed. It can be distinguished from other species of the group based on the dark mesosternum without yellow markings, by the apically curved male paramere without setae, and by the structure of male endosomal sclerites.

Two new species of the salina group of the genus Rhagovelia Mayr, 1865 (Veliidae) from Colombia are described, illustrated, and included in an updated key. Rhagovelia nuqui sp. nov. is described from the Pacific Region of Colombia and Rhagovelia tintipan sp. nov., is described from the Caribbean Region of the country. The new species are diagnosed by body length and conditions of the male hind femoral spines, paramere shape, and antenna and fore femur color. Additionally, R. colombiana (Polhemus & Manzano, 1992) is redescribed and its range is extended to Chocó departament. Finally, R. plumbea Uhler, 1894 is recorded for the first time from Colombia.

A new species of Metrobates Uhler, 1871 (Trepobatinae: Metrobatini) from Colombia is described. Metrobates sanciprianensis sp. nov. resembles M. fugientis Drake & Harris but is distinguished by the shape of the parameres and the lack of a spine on the fore femur. In addition, M. amblydonti Nieser is redescribed and a key to males of the species of Metrobates in Colombia is presented.
