Aging of the human body is a natural physiological process. In the last century, the main reasons for people turning to plastic surgeons were congenital and acquired deformities, as well as age-related changes in the skin of the face. Nowadays, a person’s appearance has become the main factor in his success in society. The work determines the motivation of elderly and senile people to perform plastic surgeries, and also analyzes the work of clinics in performing plastic surgeries for people of older age groups. It was found that 96,4 % of men and 86,9 % of women in older age groups have a fairly complete understanding of plastic surgery. Among the elderly and old people, 27,7 % of men and 17,2 % of women have a desire to perform plastic surgery for themselves, however, women are 10,9 times more likely to go to plastic surgeons. Analysis of the plastic surgery clinics showed a steady trend of increasing the number of elderly and senile people, regardless of gender, to plastic surgeons to perform operations aimed mainly at improving the aesthetics of the face, neck and body shaping by eliminating gravitational ptosis and removing excess subcutaneous fat. deposits on the trunk. The main reason for refusal to perform the operation desired by the patient and recommended by the plastic surgeon is the lack of funds.

Modern medicine has achieved significant results in the development of techniques to avoid surgeries. However, surgical methods are still one of the main tools for treating pathologies in the human body. Plastic surgery and cosmetology are gaining popularity every year, and sports injuries require the use of combined treatment methods, but any such intervention leads to the risk of keloids. The younger the person, the higher the likelihood of developing a keloid, due to the high degree of elasticity of the skin at an earlier age, which is prone to scarring than in older people. Women are at higher risk of developing keloids than men because their skin is more elastic. Thus, children and young women are most at risk of keloid formation, both as a result of physiological processes of skin scarring and preference for plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures and other methods of correction. In world pharmaceutical practice, there are not enough existing ways to prevent the development of keloid. It is necessary to conduct research on the selection of a fundamentally new structural basis for a transdermal therapeutic system containing the most effective and safe compounds of the regenerating and antioxidant mechanisms of action (vitamins and other biologically active compounds) from the point of view of preventing the formation of keloids, which will help in solving the problem of not only preventing the formation of keloids in the dermis, but also its subsequent growth and exit to the surface layers of the skin.

AbstractFacial cosmetic surgery trends are evolving in the current climate of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The aim of this study was to evaluate public interest in elective facial plastic surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic including the period of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution using Google Trends. A Google Trends analysis was completed using popular terms related to facial cosmetic surgery and procedures from March 2017 to August 2021. Three stages were identified (baseline, pre-COVID-19 vaccine distribution, and post-COVID-19 vaccine distribution). Descriptive statistics were calculated and two-tailed t-tests were performed between the pre-vaccine and the post-vaccine phases. Linear regression analysis was also performed to determine percent deflection of search terms. There was significantly greater interest in facial aesthetic procedure search terms, except for tear trough filler, during the post-COVID-19 vaccine phase compared with the pre-COVID-19 vaccine phase. There was greater interest in lower facial procedure interest during this phase compared with upper facial procedures (p-value = 0.0011). The search terms with the greatest deflection percentage during the post-vaccine phase were lip filler, brow lift, and lip flip. There continues to be high demands of facial plastic surgery and procedures despite COVID-19 pandemic.
