LAY SUMMARY Chronic pain is a frequent occurrence in military and Veteran populations. This study examined whether a group-based chronic pain treatment using the Unlearn Your Pain method was effective in reducing chronic pain in 21 military and Veteran participants. Participants completed measures of pain before and after engaging in the treatment, and results showed participants experienced large reductions in total pain and pain-related catastrophizing and moderate reductions in pain-related disability and pain-related fear of movement after completing the treatment. A smaller group of the participants completed the measures again eight weeks after completing treatment, and the size of their improvements was even greater. This study offers preliminary support for the Unlearn Your Pain method offered in a group format to military and Veteran populations. Further study is warranted.

Abstract. The frequent occurrence of heritage disasters highlights the necessity of digital preservation of heritage. There are two technical difficulties in Digitization: one is the high cost, the other is the poor applicability of the achievement. This is because the emphasis is only on data volume and accuracy, but neglecting the demand for conservation in the process of digitalization. Preventive Conservation has become the mainstream of heritage conservation. Based on this theory, this paper takes the digitization of several stone tablets in the Forbidden City as an opportunity to explore the strategy of digitization of heritage. Through the assessment of the values and state of preservation, the key points of digitization are obtained. By comparing the collection efficiency, achievement accuracy, expression characteristics, workload and cost of the various technologies, the authors draw a conclusion.

Abstract Purpose of the Review Elevated levels of anti-phospholipid (aPL) antibodies are the most important criterion in the diagnosis of anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS) and are usually responsible for promoting the risk of thrombotic complications. Now, in the course of the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, measurable aPL antibodies have also been detected in a noticeable number of patients showing a variety ranging from studies with only isolated positive tests to cohorts with very high positivity. Thus, the question arises as to whether these two different clinical pictures may be linked. Recent Findings The ambivalent results showed a frequent occurrence of the investigated aPL antibodies in COVID-19 patients to an individually varying degree. While some question a substantial correlation according to their results, a number of studies raise questions about the significance of a correlation of aPL antibodies in COVID-19 patients. Within the scope of this review, these have now been described and compared with each other. Summary Ultimately, it is necessary to conduct further studies that specifically test aPL antibodies in a larger context in order to make subsequent important statements about the role of APS in COVID-19 and to further strengthen the significance of the described comparisons.

Introduction. Borrelia miyamotoi is a pathogen causing erythema-free ixodid tick-borne borreliosis (ITBB), a disease widespread in Russia. The genome of B. miyamotoi contains genes of multiple variable major proteins (Vmps). Vmps fall into two families — Vsps and Vlps (with subfamilies δ, γ, α and β). At a particular time, a single B. miyamotoi expresses only one variant of Vmp gene. The purpose of the work is to develop a technique for identification of the Vmp present at the expression site.Materials and methods. The technique is designed in the format of a real-time multiplex PCR. It was tested by using B. miyamotoi DNA samples extracted from blood collected from 172 ITBB patients and 109 ticks. The samples were collected in 14 regions of Russia.Results. The new technique made it possible to identify the expressed Vmp in 82% of the examined samples, thus having demonstrated its efficiency. Negative results were much less often observed with samples from patients than with samples from ticks. At the same time, the percentage of samples with one type of Vmp is identical for clinical samples and ticks, while the percentage of samples containing concurrently two types of Vmps is significantly higher among samples from patients with the most frequent occurrence of the Vlp-δ and Vsp combination.Discussion. The frequent occurrence of the combination of two Vmp types in the blood samples can indicate the concurrent presence of several subpopulations of B. miyamotoi in ITBB patients. A new antigenic Vmp variant is synthesized after protective antibodies have been produced for the major protein of the strain transmitted by a tick. This phenomenon known as immune evasion allows the pathogen to persist within a host.Conclusion. The developed technique of real-time multiplex PCR allows to simultaneous detect of several antigenic variants of the variable basic surface proteins of B. miyamotoi. The study of the antigenic spectrum of B. miyamotoi strains in comparison with the characteristics of conserved regions of the genome by the method of multilocus sequencing will clarify the stages of evolution and distribution of B. miyamotoi sensu lato.

Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Komunikasi, Karang Taruna Community service activities are held with the aim of providing a good understanding of communication in accordance with the expected goals. This can be seen from the frequent occurrence of communication bias created among members of the organization in interpreting messages received and sent by fellow members of the organization. Getting attention related to communication is a form of conveying information that is not clear where this often creates multiple interpretations among members of the Kedaung Village Youth Organization in filtering and interpreting the messages given to them. Another thing that is also interesting to get attention related to communication is the limited access and media in facilitating the flow of communication that can be used by all members of the Kedaung village youth organization in obtaining and sending messages to other members of the organization. Keywords: Training, Communication, Youth organization

Background: Severe pain is among the most common and deleterious symptoms experienced by individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD), of whom more than 50% report chronic pain. Despite this, the understanding of the biological contributors to persistent severe SCD pain is limited. This exploratory study sought to describe pain phenotypes based on frequency of severe pain experienced over 6 months and identify inflammatory biomarkers associated with pain phenotypes among individuals with SCD. Methods: This study used self-report and electronic health record data collected from 74 individuals enrolled in the Duke Sickle Cell Disease Implementation Consortium Registry. Plasma from previously collected blood specimens was used to generate inflammatory biomarker data using the Inflammation 20-plex ProcartaPlexTM panel. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the occurrence of severe pain over the past 6 months, and bi-variate analyses were used to evaluate the relationship between inflammatory biomarkers and pain phenotypes. Results: Among the 74 participants included in this study, 33.8% reported severe pain occurring never or rarely, 40.5% reported severe pain occurring sometimes, and 25.7% reported severe pain occurring often or always. Soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) was the only inflammatory biomarker significantly associated with the pain phenotype groups ( p = 0.049). Post hoc comparisons identified that participants in the often/always severe pain group had significantly higher plasma concentrations of sE-selectin compared to those in the sometimes severe pain group ( p = 0.040). Conclusions: Our findings provide preliminary evidence of the frequent occurrence of severe pain and that sE-selectin may be an objective biomarker for the frequent occurrence of severe pain in this population.
