Using the NS2 network simulation tool to teach the “wireless network” course can enhance students’ understanding of wireless network protocols through visualization and can also improve students’ ability to analyze problems hands on. We built a multimedia wireless network modularized English teaching platform based on NS2 simulation software; made full use of the rich components and network resources provided by NS2 to achieve a high degree of code reuse and reduce the time for developing simulation codes; designed the overall framework of this multimedia wireless network modular English teaching platform based on the B/S structure; and solved the weight coefficient and importance value of the learning input evaluation index, based on the feedback elite teaching optimization algorithm, the improved teaching formula, the increase in the number of exchanges, and the improvement in the learner’s performance. The experimental results show that the LEACH and LEACH-C protocols of the clustered NS2 simulation software have more surviving nodes most of the time, which indicates that the clustering routing protocol has better performance.

Abstract Transporting a stereo video stream over an unreliable channel can degrade severely the video quality. Network congestion is one of the important factors affecting the video quality. To improve the stereo video quality, a stereo video congestion control method, based on the macroblock importance, is proposed. Firstly, the importance of every macroblock is calculated according to its influence on the current frame and future frames. Then, combined with the importance information, all macroblocks of a frame are divided into three levels. Finally, the packets are transported with the help of RTP/RTCP protocol. We discard some not so important packets actively according to the importance levels when a congestion occurs. The results from NS2 simulation platform show that the stereo video quality is improved with the method proposed.

LEACH is a classic wireless network routing protocol, the large energy consumption of LEACH cluster heads leads to the load imbalance of network nodes in order to shorten the life of network, the paper proposed an improved LEACH-M protocol to solve the problem, so that the shortest path between cluster heads and base station is formed, finally the NS2 simulation results show that the load balance of network is improved, and the lifetime of network is extended.

In order to find out the specific location algorithm suitable for the underground mine and how to realize the applications of the node location.This article through the setting two different coal mine environment (i.e. roadway environment and underground environment of coal mine) from different aspects carry out simulation analysis to four location performance based on range-free algorithm, use the expansion and modeling NS2 simulation platform, obtain the important conclusion: centroid algorithm is the most suitable for long and narrow roadway simulation environment, and DV-Hop is the most suitable for the underground intensive environment of the unknown nodes high density and less beacon nodes.

In recent years,the ad hoc network has been paid extensive attention due to its characteristics of non-center and self-organization.Firstly this paper introduces three typical routing protocols AODV,DSDV,DSR,and the principles of them; then,adopts the NS2 simulation platform to simulate the performance of end-to-end delay,routing overhead and packet delivery ratio by changing the number of nodes and the paused time of nodes.Finally,by comparing the simulating results, the comparison conclusion is provided.
