This paper is concerned with the reconstruction of objects immersed in anisotropic media from boundary measurements. The aim of this paper is to propose an alternative approach based on the Kohn-Vogelius formulation and the topological sensitivity analysis method. The idea is to formulate the reconstruction problem as a topology optimization one minimizing an energy-like function. We derive a topological asymptotic expansion for the anisotropic Laplace operator. The unknown object is reconstructed using level-set curve of the topological gradient. We make finally some numerical examples proving the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to identify the most important physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model parameters determining the absorbed dose (AD) in prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) therapy. The extended-Sobol’ global sensitivity analysis method was used to analyze the sensitivity of the PBPK model parameters obtained from 3 patients. The investigated PBPK model parameters were the blood flow to the organs, PSMA binding rate, biological release rates, and density of organs receptor. The outputs of extended Sobol method were the main effect Si and the total effect STi of the parameter of interests for each ADs. The sampling strategy of extended Sobol has been implemented based on the mean and covariance matrix of the parameters. From the simulations, the most important parameters which determine the ADs to the kidney was the kidney receptor density (Si=0,4, STi=0,8). For tumors, it was shown that tumor receptor density was the most essential parameter (Si=0,7, STi=0,8). In conclusion, measurement of the blood flow and organ receptor densities might be of interest to improve individualized treatment of PSMA therapy.

Abstract Low pressure superheated steam drying (LPSSD) is an attractive drying method, which can retain nutrients in fruits and vegetables well. To obtain high quality drying products, it is necessary to understand the main factors affecting the quality attribute of drying sample. Therefore, green turnip was selected as the drying sample and sensitivity analysis method was used to identify the main influencing factors of product quality, such as color, re-hydration performance and Vitamin C during LPSSD. The results showed that the drying temperature had the greatest influence on the color change and vitamin C retention of green turnip. The total color difference ΔE* increased with the elevated drying temperature. The drying pressure had the greatest influence on re-hydration performance and the re-hydration ratio decreased with the elevated drying pressure.

Abstract Radix Angelicae Dahuricae is a traditional Chinese medicine. We developed a high-sensitivity method for detection of furanocoumarins in Radix Angelicae Dahuricae and Gumiganghwal-tang (GMGHT). The six furanocoumarins of Radix Angelicae Dahuricae were sonication-extracted from 50% ethanol for 60 min. Six furanocoumarins were separated through a gradient elution system. The limits of detection of the components were 0.002–0.3 ng (0.2–30 ng/mL). The coefficients of determination were 0.9995–1.0000, all inter-day and intra-day precision values were < 4.9%, and the mean recoveries and relative standard deviations were 96.4%–104.5% and 0.5%–4.8% for Radix Angelicae Dahuricae extract, respectively. Our method does not require any pretreatment steps and exhibits good reproducibility, selectivity, and sensitivity. Therefore, our method will contribute to a Radix Angelicae Dahuricae quality control measure.
