Although "appropriation", in other words "appropriation/adaptation", is a production approach that originates the productions of modern period artists, it has been one of the artistic orientations that form the roof of the Postmodern artistic pluralist structure, which basically has an eclectic body. Artists, who adopt and defend this mode of production, have reinterpreted and circulated existing or previously produced works/images/forms, contrary to the new production approach. At the same time, these artists, who consciously use the symbolic importance of the works they appropriate, while creating the cultural framework of their own production, seek a construction of meaning based on concepts such as reference, citation, irony, parody and incongruity, as well as a structure that tries to draw attention to the richness of meaning in contemporary art. have been placed on their agenda. This concept, which has developed an attitude against the notion of "originality" of modernism, has developed new arguments on the concepts of gender and racial discrimination, social language and discourse, identity, culture and representation, especially after the 1980s, examining the social codes that took shape through certain power relations. It has been shaped even more by the production practices of the artists. In this study, the "appropriation" approach, which is the source of many productions of postmodern art, is mentioned and a quick introduction to the sanctuary of art in the name of the interpretation and analysis of this concept and bringing the "authenticity/originality" discussions in art to the agenda again; The works of Japanese artist Yasumasa Morimura, who revived the masterpieces of art history and popular culture icons in his own body, in order to find himself again in other bodies, to experience and learn, are mentioned. In order to understand the research hotspots and the development directions in the field of vulnerable karst environment, we undertook bibliometrics citation analysis on 5425 contributions to the literature written in the range from 1991 to 2017 based on the “Web of Science” core collection citation index database. Hopefully, this work will help to set up a scientific foundation for further studies. This research considered the following factors: keywords frequency, influence of author, research hotspot, reference citation network, research institution and the evolution of research topic. It was revealed that the research interests were focused on water, cave, and soil environments and implicated trends switching from a water environment to cave and eco-environment and from ecological restoration and rehabilitation to karst rocky desertification. A European-American-Chinese centered cooperation network has shown its initial form. This research will offer researchers a bird’s eye view of the global vulnerable karst environment and point out the directions of further study.

Purpose As researchers are writing a draft paper with incomplete structure or text, one of burdensome tasks is to deliberate about which references should be cited for one sentence or paragraph of this draft. In view of the rapid increase in the number of research papers, researchers desire to figure out a better way to do citation recommendations in developing their draft papers. The purpose of this paper is to propose citation recommendation algorithms that enable the acquisition of relevant citations for research papers that are still at the drafting stage. This study attempts to help researchers to select appropriate references among the vast amount of available papers and make draft papers complete in reference citation. Design/methodology/approach This study adopts a model for recommending citations for incomplete drafts. Four algorithms are proposed in this study. The first and second algorithms are unsupervised models, applying term frequency-inverse document frequency and WordNet technologies, respectively. The third and fourth algorithms are based on the second algorithm to integrate different weight adjustment strategies to improve performance. Findings The proposed recommendation method adopts three techniques, including using WordNet to transform vector and setting adjustment weights according to structural factors and the information completeness degree, to generate citation recommendation for incomplete drafts. The experiments show that all these three techniques can significantly improve the recommendation accuracy. Originality/value None of the methods employed in previous studies can recommend articles as references for incomplete drafts. This paper addresses the situation that a draft paper can be incomplete either in structure or text or both. Recommended references, however, can be still generated and inserted into any desired sentence of the draft paper.

Science is fundamentally devoted to generating original knowledge, and therefore concepts of scientific originality are keys to understanding its very essence. Scientific originality has long been thought of as discovery, but new studies of the humanities and social sciences have shown that other, discipline-specific concepts of originality are used in these fields of study. Does this finding also hold for disciplines in the natural science, medicine, and engineering? Are concepts of originality scientifically grounded or do they instead reflect extrascientific modes of originality? These questions lie at the heart of research proposals responding to an initiative explicitly calling for original scientific projects. The proposals undergo a two-step analysis based on grounded theory[Per style, reference citation is not allowed in abstract section. Hence, we have deleted Charmaz, 2006. Please approve.]. First, three empirically identified modes of scientific originality are described: temporal, partially different, and revolutionary. The three modes of originality are consistent with extrascientific ones such as those in art and fashion. Second, six disciplines—two each in the natural science, medical, and engineering—are analyzed for ways the three modes of originality are used and for their associated disciplinary characteristics in order to identify discipline-specific concepts of originality.

AbstractThe scientific literature of humor processing between 2000 and 2016 was reviewed by means of scientometric methods. The clustered and visualized document co-citation network of the humor processing knowledge domain was analyzed in terms of common topics and content of co-cited references. Emerging trends of humor processing were detected through reference citation bursts. The combined dataset of 816 bibliographic records and 42,687 references was compiled through a basic topic search. In order to ensure adequate coverage of the field, the search was expanded to include literature that referenced literature found in the initial basic topic search. Results produced a document co-citation network of humor processing with ten clusters, which showed that social cognition and fMRI study both served as important foundations for work in this knowledge domain. Personality studies in humor processing as well as research about the right hemisphere’s role in humor processing also received considerable attention. These key areas of study accounted for 4 clusters. The remaining six clusters included studies on sexual selection, figurative language, prejudice, facial expression, sleep deprivation and infant humor perception associated with the knowledge domain. In this study, burst detection in references revealed topics of high interest to researchers as well as emerging trends in humor processing research.
