Spectral-luminescence properties of a hybrid compound containing a coumarin-type spiropyran and an azomethinocoumarin fragment in toluene-acetonitrile solution in the presence of Li+, Ca2+, Zn2+ and Mg2+ ions are reported. Two excited state proton transfers can occur in the hybrid compound—the transfer of a proton from the OH group of the 7-hydroxy coumarin tautomer to the N atom of the C=N bond of the azomethine fragment leading to green ESIPT fluorescence with a maximum at 540 nm and from the OH group of the 7-hydroxy coumarin tautomer to the carbonyl group of the pyrone chromophore, which leads to the formation of the 2-hydroxyl-tautomer T of coumarin with blue fluorescence with a maximum at 475 nm. Dependence of these excited state proton transfers on the metal nature and irradiation with an external UV source is discussed.

The oxidation of cyclohexanone and/or cyclohexanol to adipic acid (AA) was performed at 90 °C with a reaction time of 20 h, in the presence of H2O2 as oxidant and transition metal substituted ammonia polyoxometalates of formula, (NH4)xHyMzPMo12O40 (M: Fe, Co, or Ni,  and x = 2.5 or 2.28) as catalysts.  The catalytic results showed that the AA yield is sensitive to the transition metal nature and to the reaction conditions (sample weight and substrate amount). The (NH4)2.29H0.39Co0.16PMo12O40 was found to be the better catalytic system toward AA synthesis from cyclohexanone oxidation, with 40% of AA yield  Copyright © 2018 BCREC Group. New hybrid magnetic materials based on HDPE filled with Со and Ni nanoparticles have been prepared via the metal vapor synthesis. Properties of the metal-polymer composites have been elucidated as a function of MVS parameters and metal nature. The Faraday method has been applied to characterize the magnetic properties of the systems. The microstructure of the samples has been studied with a number of X-ray and synchrotron techniques, including XRD, EXAFS and SAXS. Core-level and valence band spectra were measured by XPS. The peak at binding energy of 282.8 eV characteristic of C-Ni bond was recorded in the C 1s spectrum. It was shown that properties of nanocomposite materials with similar compositions are determined both by the synthesis conditions and post-synthesis factors.

The paper considers the formation of silicon oxides and d-metals using differential-scanning calorimetry data of the film-forming solutions hydrolysates containing tetraethoxysilane and d-metal salts. The major stages of double oxides SiO2-MxOy (where M – Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) formation, and behavior of the systems upon the application of heat are analyzed. Thermal treatment intervals which display the difference of the systems behavior depending on the metal nature were determined.
