Profile deck steel sheets are used in composite deck slabs. These sheets are standard in dimensions and shapes besides they are supplied with embossments and indentations. Such sheets are not available in Iraqi markets nowadays therefore people used another type of sheets which are corrugated without embossments or indentations in very wide range. This study covers the use of such sheets in composite slabs as decks instead of standard profiled steel sheets. The study comprises testing slabs of dimensions 0.9 × 2.5 m reinforced by steel fabric mesh and rested on corrugated sheets. Two types of shear spans are selected shorter and longer to study the longitudinal shear force transmitted due to the applied loads according to the Eurocode 4. The shorter shear spans are 600, 500 and 400 mm while longer one is 800, 750 and 700 mm. The study extended to support the requirements of design equation of the Eurocode by shear bond method also known as m–k method. The evaluated values of m and k are 0.094 and 65 respectively. The result of k which plays a very important role in shear transfer is small compared to what available in literature, therefore it is recommended to make use of shear connectors in such construction or any else method.

Various methods of nonwoven composite materials manufacturing are known. One such method is the well-known technique called spun-bonding. The production technology for composite nonwoven by the spun-bond method is known, but the technique of introducing an additive in the form of shredded wastes of natural origin so as to obtain a composite nonwoven fabric with interesting functional properties is new. The article describes a method of producing an innovative composite nonwoven using the spun-bond technique. As a result of incorporating various additives into the nonwoven structure, composite nonwovens with modified properties are obtained. Composite nonwovens, depending on the additive used, can be utilised as filtration material in the construction, agriculture or automotive industry.

Aim: To assess the bonding strength of the Equia Forte resin modified glass ionomer cement to the hybrid composite material by applying different surface treatments. Methodology: 140 samples as 70 Equia Forte and 70 G-eanial composites were produced as 8 mm diameter 3 mm high cylindrical standardized samples. The samples were divided into 7 groups to treat surfaces. G-eanial composite resins as 4 mm diameter 3 mm high was placed onto the samples and polymerized. Then 1000 thermal cycle was applied and samples were mounted in the universal testing machine. Obtained bond strength values were recorded as Newton. One way Anova and Scheffe post hoc tests were performed for statistics. Results: In the G-aenial group, the highest bond strength was obtained with laser-bond method (N=17.71, P<0.05) and the lowest bonding strength was obtained with only laser-treated method (N=3.45, P<0.05). In the Equia group, the highest bond strength was obtained with air abrasion-bond method (N=9.29, P<0.05) and the lowest bonding strength was obtained with only laser-treated method (N=0.00, P<0.05). Conclusion: The fact that sufficient bond strength could not be reached by any surface treatment in Equia Forte may suggest that replacing the Equia Forte instead of repairs may be a better choice.

This work describes the software package, Valence, for the calculation of molecular<br>energies using the variational subspace valence bond (VSVB) method. VSVB is a highly scalable ab initio electronic structure method based on non-orthogonal orbitals. Important features of practical value include: Valence bond wave functions of Hartree–Fock quality can be constructed with a single determinant; excited states can be modeled with a single configuration or determinant; wave functions can be constructed automatically by combining orbitals from previous calculations. The opensource software package includes tools to generate wave functions, a database of generic orbitals, example input files, and a library build intended for integration with other packages. We also describe the interface to an external software package, enabling the computation of optimized molecular geometries and vibrational frequencies.
