As a result of experiments with the motion of asymmetrical vibrating bodies in a viscous medium, it was found that the generally accepted idea of such a principle of motion is not correct. In reality, the movement is in the opposite direction. A description of the experiments and the observed effect is given, as well as its interpretation.

With the growing of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) usage, many new types of UAV are introduced. Flying Saucer is a new type of UAV which is not yet famous in the market. The aim of this study is to analysis the aerodynamic coefficients of a Flying Saucer. The research question arise is What the optimum angle of attack for Flying Saucer flight is. The study is conducted in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using COMSOL Multiphysics with Laminar Flow physics for several angles of attack. The analysis considers Lift and Drag coefficient in the form of 𝐶𝐿 and 𝐶𝐷 to angle of attack (α) plot, ratio of 𝐶𝐿/𝐶𝐷 to angle of attack (α) plot and drag polar plot. We conclude that a symmetric Flying Sauce has aerodynamic characteristic with the optimum operational angle of attack in the range of 8 to 16 deg. The 𝐶𝐷 and 𝐶𝐿 has a quadratic relationship with large 𝐶𝐷0 due to the geometric of Flying Saucer. It recommends that further study should explore in the area of zero and maximum angle of attack (α) and validation in wind tunnel experiment.

Objective: To study the effect of training under high temperature on blood and heat shock protein 72(HSP72)expression of flying saucer athletes. Methods: The numbers of training group and control group are 30. Twenty-four flying saucer athletes in Zhejiang province were selected and randomly divided into training group and control group, 15 in each group. Peripheral venous blood of each group was taken before and after the experiment. The HSP72 content of lymphocyte, blood routine and biochemical indexes were measured respectively. Results: There was significant difference in white blood cell in training group count before and after the experiment(P< 0.05). The expression of HSP72 and the white blood cell in training group was higher than that control group(P< 0.05). Conclusions: Organism could be affected and turned to stress state due to training under high temperature. It is necessary to provide the safeguard for the flying saucer athletes under high temperature in order to prevent the damage.

Abstract Background and objective To report novel findings and limitations from optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in the evaluation of autoimmune retinopathy (AIR). Study design We retrospectively reviewed features of five patients diagnosed with AIR and five controls. OCTA scans were obtained and manually segmented to provide accurate measurements of foveal avascular zone (FAZ), vessel density, and retinal thickness at different levels. Results The total retina and superficial vessel density throughout the whole scan were similar between AIR and controls (p = 0.14 and p = 0.11), whereas deep vessel density was decreased in AIR compared controls (p = 0.02). Decreased vessel density was most pronounced in the parafoveal and perifoveal areas (p = 0.01 and p = 0.01). AIR patients also had reduction of total retinal thickness in the perifoveal zone (p = 0.03), corresponding to outer retinal thinning (p = 0.001). Conclusion This small series shows that AIR patients have reduced deep vessel density, particularly in the parafoveal and perifoveal regions and a decrease in macular thickness. These findings show correlation with the classic “flying saucer” sign seen on OCT.

A number of systemic medications are known to cause macular toxicity, and bull’s eye maculopathy is caused by some of them like hydroxychloroquine and clofazimine. A 55-year-old female, known case of vitiligo with history of undergoing methoxsalen–ultraviolet A therapy, presented with painless defective vision in both eyes. Fundus examination and autofluorescence showed macular degeneration with bull’s eye configuration. Optical coherence tomography showed perifoveal loss of photoreceptors and outer retinal thinning with foveal sparing appearing as ‘flying saucer’. Multifocal electroretinogram showed pan-macular suppression of waveforms. Patient was diagnosed as case of methoxsalen-induced advanced macular toxicity. This is the first reported case of methoxsalen-induced advanced bull’s eye maculopathy.
