Penggunan pupuk organik sebagai bahan pembenah tanah (soil conditioner) dapat meningkatkan kandungan C-organik dalam tanah. Kandungan unsur hara yang dimiliki pupuk organik antara laian:1). Mengandung unsur hara dalam jenis dan jumlah bervariasi tergantung bahan asal, 2) menyediakan unsur hara secara lambat (slow rease) dan dalam jumlah terbatas, dan 3) mempunyai fungsi utama memperbaiki kesuburan dan kesehatan tanah. Pupuk organik yang berasal dari pupuk kandang merupakan bahan pembenah tanah yang paling baik dibanding bahan pembenah lainya. Kadar hara yang dikandung pupuk organik pada umumnya rendah dan sangat bervariasi. sebagai bahan pembenah tanah, pupuk organik membantu dalam mencegah terjadinya erosi dan mengurangi terjadinya retakan tanah. bahan organik sebagai pembenah tanah mampu memperbaiki sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi tanah anatara lain: meningkatkan kelembaban tanah dan memperbaiki porositas tanah, serta kandungan hara dalam tanah. Penggunaan pupuk organik 5 ton/ha berasal dari pupuk kandang ayam lebih baik dibanding dengan pupuk organik sapi dan kambing terhadap peningkatan produksi tanaman jagung dan kedelai pada Ultisol di Jambi. Pupuk organik ayam mengandung hara Ca dan P yang lebih tinggi dari sapi dan kambing yaitu berturut-turut sebesar 6,09 dan 1,5 %, sedangkan pupuk organik kambing mengandung C-organik K dan Cu lebih tinggi dari sapi dan ayam masing-masing sebesar 12,46, 0,47 dan 135 %.

Soybean is one of the leguminous plants and is the main source of protein and vegetable oil in the world. Soybean is the most important strategic main food crop after rice and corn. Caused of their high protein and fat content, soybean seeds have fast decreased quality during storage, both for consumption material and as a source of seeds. This study aims to determine changes in physical and chemical quality of several soybean varieties during storage. This research was conducted from February to August 2016 in the Agricultural Science Park (TSP) Natar. The study was conducted in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. This study uses 4 soybean varieties, namely: Grobogan, Burangrang, Anjasmoro, and Argomulyo; packaged using polyethylene plastic bags (PE) 0.8 mm. Observation parameters included physical quality (split grains, broken grains, other colored grains, wrinkled grains, and impurities), hardness and chemical quality (moisture content, ash content, protein content, fat content, crude fiber content, and carbohydrate content). The observations showed that: Anjasmoro variety has the best physical quality (Quality I) compared to other varieties, both before storage (0 months), and after storage (6 months); There was increased water content, protein content, ash content, and crude fiber content, but a decrease in carbohydrate content in soybean seeds after storage for 6 months, while the ash content did not change significantly;There was increased the level of hardness of soybean seeds during storage for 4 soybean varieties that were used around 3,68% - 8,33%.

This research is about application IBA and NAA with some cutting materials of “Madu Deli Hijau” water apple using NFT hydroponic system was aim to study the growth of water apple’s cuttings was treated by IBA and NAA 500 ppm and study the best kind of cutting materials of water apple that can growth the most.  This research was conducted using completely randomized design in two factors.  The first was consisted of 7 treatments; control (without Auxin), IBA 500 ppm, and NAA 500 ppm. The second was consisted of 4 treatments; woody branch (hardwood), semi woody (semi hardwood), and soft branch, softwood, and shoots. The results showed that the added auxin in the form of IBA and NAA 500 ppm can increase the success of madu deli hijau water apple cuttings and the cuttings from the shoots are the best for the success of madu deli hijau water apple in NFT hydroponic system.
