In a firm perspective the simply availability of digital systems does not necessarily lead to success. On the contrary, it requires that firms accompany digital resources with the development of best organizational practices which implicates a transformation in term of e.g. organizational changes and innovation. Digital technologies allow companies to improve productivity in two ways: by making hard improvements that dramatically increase the efficiency of intelligent machine and processes, and by making soft improvements that increase the efficiency of people working together. The paper highlights various discussions on the relationship between ICT investment and productivity. However, this framework has outlined a relatively more cohesive body of thought which, by seeking to overcome the controversial concept of the productivity paradox, highlights the existence of a significant relationship, not just between ICT and productivity, but also between certain multiplying variables which represent ICT and other complementary factors.

The house dust mites are considered to be an allergen source and a main cause of allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma. House dust mites, their feces and other allergens which they produce are usually major constituents of house dust. Any stir in the air causes settled dust, and therefore allergen source found in it, to become airborne and thus easier to be inhaled by people, possibly causing different kinds of allergic reactions (sneezing, for example). In this paper, the correlation between common home activities (walking around, bed making, vacuuming etc.) and airborne dust concentration is examined. In order to do so, a novel Internet of things architecture is proposed that is capable of establishing that correlation. This proposed system not only collects dust concentration but it also visualizes it in an easy to understand and interpret way.

This paper addresses the challenges of taxing the digital economy and offers potential solutions towards aligning the digital economy by redefining the tax rules governing traditional businesses. The methodology employed is purely descriptive and explanatory highlighting specific countries and their approach to taxing the digital economy. The literature addressed in the paper focuses on recent government responses in highlighting the problem with digital taxation and identifying the key areas requiring policy recommendations, which the paper then offers to provide. Although several academic works have addressed the challenges of taxing the digital economy, there has been little systematic description on what policy recommendations ought to be made that would provide an effective template for developing African countries to rely on in enacting their own laws. This paper amends this omission.
