Application and research of GIS in the slope engineering is one of the hot topics in this field. In this paper, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method of slope stability based on GIS was researched. It developed and set up a multi factor slope fuzzy comprehensive evaluation system by using slope database and can quantitatively classify and evaluate the slope stability in a quick and efficient way. This system can be at work on slope data management, inquiry, statistics and spatial analysis. It evaluated the fatality and vulnerability to the slope of a large scale coal mine as an example.

The target of this paper is to get proper information of deformation through monitor the health of a large-scale trial. The slope in the process of the governance and reinforced slope are designed in the test in Zhouqu County, Gansu Province. Through Health Monitoring Test to high slope, the teat is to master deformation and internal force changes of the supporting structure, meanwhile determine the trend of slope deformation. It is possible to send out the warning for slope stability. Through researching the program and analyzing the data of future monitoring, it provides a reliable basis of similar slope engineering for future.

Landslide/slope failures have been accounted, as the second natural disaster for Malaysia after flood. From the landslides investigations reports, it is shown that landslides in Malaysia were caused mainly by factors like lack of maintenance, less coordination during construction stage and design problem apart from rainfall. The slant of this study facilitated multidisciplinary perceptions regarding human error causes in existing practices to be captured. This approach has the worth to offer the usefulness of progressive actions that are taken to strengthen the slopes. Conducting the surveys with focussed group respondents, could provide benchmarking to gauge any change in influences and resource use as efforts are made to advance the consideration of slope stability in hill site developments.

Based on the basic-element expression method and correlation function theory in Extenics, combined with the knowledge of slope engineering, a method for evaluating the stability of complex slope is proposed. The evaluation process includes the selection of suitable evaluation indexes of slope stability, identificationof the classification standard for the slope stability, identificationof the weights of evaluation indexes by using the improved analytic hierarchy process, identificationof the classical domain, node domain and matter-element under evaluation, the calculation of the correlation of each stability class for each evaluation index, normalization of correlation, and so on. The selection rule of the slop stability evaluation indexes and selection of correlation function and optimal points are also discussed, which can provide reference for slope engineering designin construction industry.

According to the stability of open-pit slope, the main influence factors of the slope stability is analyzed firstly. Then, based on the basic principle and method of fuzzy mathematics, the slope stability analysis of fuzzy and comprehensive evaluation further more model is established and the grading index of the slope stability is determined. Finally, by analyzing an example of large open-pit mine slope engineering, the stability of the slope is evaluated. The results show that the evaluation model could consider the uncertain properties in actual slope problems, and the evaluation result is reasonable.

The vertical slice method is generally adopted for calculation of slope stability safety factor. The algebraic expression of the slope stability safety factor Fs is deducted based on the idea of the calculation via the inclined slice method and according to the inclined slice force limit equilibrium conditions. This expression is implicit so that the result can be obtained quickly only through simple iteratives, guaranteeing the convergence. Calculation examples show that the slope stability safety factor Fs derived from this method is very similar with that from conventional methods. which proves that this method is feasible and brings convenience to technical personnel of slope engineering.
