In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, universities were forced to shift to an online, remote delivery system. This paper presents the design and evaluation of two skills-based first-year units that were adapted to a predominantly asynchronous mode of delivery. The evaluation results indicate that student engagement was high, and that students felt well-supported by the strong teacher presence throughout their units. Furthermore, the impact of this engagement and support was evident in their final grades and the overall unit completion figures. These findings indicate that individualized support, teacher presence and flexibility are key factors in student success in an online environment. This suggests that asynchronous learning can be valuable to students from various academic backgrounds providing that the content and teacher are readily accessible in various formats and that the teachers are mindful of the complexities of students’ lives outside of an academic setting.

The present study examines the impact of the online archiving system developed at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on the in-class students enrolled in traditional math courses. A web survey has been designed for collecting data on potential changes in attitudes and behaviors (such as study habits), on the dynamics of professor-student relation, and on overall student performance enhancement. The results indicate that the presence of the archived lectures and lecture notes adds significant value to the learning process with notable improvements in the perceived student performance and overall experience in the class.

Films have been an effective medium of communication of the messages of science since many years. The impact of films can be marked well on the minds and thoughts of viewers. Now a days intervention of technology is increasing day by day and it has enhanced techniques of video conferencing and films on science. Moreover, online lectures have proved to be more useful to reach the students. Science based films are better collaboration of both science and art for learning. It requires only creative minds as well as scientific attitude since the language of films is different than that of books. Films are always capable to communicate its messages even in small dialogues along with attractive(catchy) titles. This audio-visual médium connects the viewers more than the text books. In “Vigyan Prasar” popular science film production was initiated(started) about two decades ago. To encourage making of science films in India, it came up with a “Science Film Festival” originally entitled “Rashtriya Vigyan Chalchitra Mela(RVCM)”. At present, it is celebrated every year in the name of National Science Film Festival(NSFF). A large number of films submitted by the National and International producers are classified in various categories and are shown to the viewers and members of jury on the screen during this festival and then decisión is taken by the members of jury regarding final list of films. The screening of films along with work shops provides an opportunity for learning and also provide a platform to delibrate on arising obstacles or difficulties on the way of making science-based films. This film festival event is always educational, entertaining and above all it encourages the scientific thinking among all the participants. In this study, an analysis has been presented rgarding those films which were included during film festival of 2015. At the same time, a comparative study has also been done between NSFF and other Indian Science Film Festivals as well as competitions.

Introduction: The health crisis that occurred due to the Covid19 pandemic has an impact on the education sector. Universities in Southeast Sulawesi issued a policy to study at home during the Covid19 emergency response period. The existence of the study at home policy caused the change in the learning. The learning process cannot be done directly and is transferred through online learning. The research objective was to determine the impact of the Covid19 pandemic of the online learning process of universities in Southeast Sulawesi. Method: The type of research is a descriptive research and the technique is purposive sampling. The sample in this study were 170 students from several universities in Southeast Sulawesi. Data collection techniques by distributing the questionnaires using google form. Result and Discussion: The results show that the application of online learning is a new experience that provides convenience and flexibility in studying without having to go to campus. Regardless, online learning is still experiencing obstacles. The availability of inadequate network access resulted in unclear communication and instructions in lectures. The ability of the economy to fulfill internet quotas hinders student participation in taking online lectures. Excessive workload makes student concentration decrease. Conclusion: The government needs to ensure the availability of adequate internet network access in all regions and campuses provide subsidized internet quota for students. So, the lecture activities can be run smoothly and as expected.

Online learning is an effort in educational institutions to hold online-based teaching and learning with the intention that the learning process continues according to a predetermined system. This policy is caused by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) which continues to spread and take its toll. This study aims to explain the impact of online lectures on the neuroscience perspective of Islamic education. This study uses qualitative methods, with techniques for collecting data sourced from books, and research journals that are focused on the topic of research. The results showed that the impact of online learning caused students to experience anxiety ranging from not understanding the application and the applied system, to the influence of inner pressure from the coronavirus, which certainly made many students feel stressed. Because of neuroscience the brain has a happy hormone that is the hormone dopamine which response to all conditions that the brain receives. Likewise, the view of Islamic education in denying this is something that is not natural to happen, because it is indirectly detrimental to one party, namely students.

Abstract Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact not only on clinical practices but also on residency programs as an important part of hospital medical services. We investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the pediatric surgery residency program in our institution. Results: A questionnaire was developed, consisting of 24 questions: a) the perspectives of residents about COVID-19 infection during their residency program; b) the learning process; c) academic evaluations; and d) residents' suggestions to improve the quality of their residency program during the outbreak. Most (85.7%) pediatric surgery residents agreed that elective surgeries should be postponed during the pandemic. Before the outbreak, almost all (90.5%) residents used textbooks and journals as their primary sources of learning, while during the outbreak, 71.4% of residents shifted to use online lectures either from the school or Association of Pediatric Surgeons. Interestingly, 95.2% of participants agreed that they had more time to complete their academic assignments during the pandemic. In conclusions, the pandemic has had a significant impact on the development of pediatric surgery residency programs. A comprehensive approach is needed to maintain the high standard of competence of pediatric surgery without compromising our safety from the COVID-19 infection risk.

The purpose of this study was to know about student’s material understanding because implementation online lectures in pandemic. Then, the positive impact of conducting online lectures and inhibiting factors. This research is qualitative approach. Primary data by Google Form and secondary data by articles. By this, the PAI Postgraduate online implementation strategy utilizing whatsapp group, zoom, and google form. The positive impacts, distant learning prevent outbreaks; flexible lecture time; easier to understand; add insight related to the use of technology;  saving cost. While the inhibiting effects is hard to get a comprehensive explanation; difficult signals; lectures who have assignments without explanation; hard to find sources.

There is a substantial body of work arguing that sense of belonging, connection and interaction is a critical element for students to persist and succeed in learning online. However online students frequently report feeling isolated and disconnected from teachers, peers, and the institution. This paper explores the use of regular, informal video messages to facilitate these connections in a fully online course We argue that such videos can build teacher presence, provide opportunities for sharing feedback, guidance, emerging developments and professional insights, and contribute to a dynamic and engaging learning environment. We share preliminary feedback and reflections on the use of such videos and discuss the next steps in measuring the impact of these videos on student learning and satisfaction.
