One of the main reasons for reducing the service life of road asphalt pavements (the appearance and development of damage in the form of ruts, various kinds of plastic deformations, potholes, cracks, etc.) is the low quality of the used oil bitumen. The physicomechanical properties of road bitumen are subject to stricter requirements, especially for organic binders used for the production of crushed stone mastic asphalt (SMA), therefore, in authors’ view, the development of bitumen binders with enhanced physicomechanical properties is one of the key and most urgent tasks in road construction. This problem is solved by introducing various modifiers into the binder. This article presents the results of a study of bitumen modified by introducing technical sulfur into the composition. The effect of binder modification on the physicomechanical properties of road asphalt concrete is shown on the example of crushed stone mastic asphalt (SMA-20) relative to base samples made to control the dynamics of changes in the properties of composites made using sulfur-raising technologies. For a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of modifying crushed stone mastic asphalt concrete based on various binders, a generalized quality criterion is calculated, taking into account the calculated particular quality criteria and various values of the weight coefficients. The comparison and analysis of the obtained efficiency criteria is made.

The evaluation of energy savings in the area of transport infrastructure entails a complex characterization of factors, attitudes and consequences. In the frame of energy saving approach, must be identified sustainable alternatives and solutions for road asphalt pavements production and exploitation. Finding innovative materials is one major objective in this process. In the present paper has been carried out an evaluation of the energetically and environmental benefits of warm mix asphalt (WMA) compositions that incorporate reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and their contribution to roads sustainable development. For a proper analysis and reliable results, have been used the Life Cycle Assessment methodology and asPECT software. WMA integrating RAP are known as energy – saving and environmentally friendly asphalt roads pavements. Analyzed in a comparative perspective with hot mix asphalt (HMA) incorporating RAP, WMA would gain in results due to the decrease in mixing and compaction temperature, energy consumption and emissions but also to the increase in durability, quality and performance. The results of this comparison intended to point out an alternative that would provide an increase in the sustainability of the transport infrastructure sector.

In order to find out the loading mechanism of Fly-Ash-Flushed-by-Seawater base asphalt pavement under heavy load and verify reasonable road pavement structure, this paper analysed the road model under different axel load with ABAQUS. The influence of structural stress and the road asphalt pavement deflection in different road structural parameters were shown in the paper. The result indicates that the structural stress and the deflection under heavy load are greater than they are under the standard load. When the vehicle is over load by 100%, the tensile stress of subbase is close to the allowable tensile stress. The structure of Fly-Ash-Flushed-by-Seawater base asphalt pavement can be designed to adapt to the over load traffic of Yingkou by adjusted the structural parameter in a certain range.

Due to the use course limitation of asphalt pavement at home and abroad, research on road asphalt recycling is laid particular stress on an aging regeneration properties both in China and abroad at present, and research on multiple aging and regeneration is much less. In this paper, five heating tests of 40 min, 85 min, 180 min, 240 min, 300 min were carried on to simulate asphalt aging , and reentry another same time aging after regeneration for each aging asphalt, so reciprocating cycle five times, each group of sample use the same reclaiming agent to regenerate NO.70# road asphalt after every aging test. The experimental results show that: after aging regeneration many times, performance index of NO.70 road asphalt can return to no age level, namely the asphalt multiple recycling is completely feasible.

With the development of local economy, the increase of urban population and the poor infrastructure in old urban area cant meet the development of the modern city. Small and medium-sized city traffic problems have gradually become the negative factors which hinder and restrict the city social economy development. As viewed from Hohhot, this article mainly aims at the urban road asphalt pavement damage condition, analyses the main damage types and puts forward to the renovation and maintenance programs.
