Abstract. Marine atmosphere is usually considered to be a clean environment, while this study indicates that the near-coast waters of South China Sea (SCS) suffered from even worse air quality than coastal cities. The analyses were based on concurrent field measurements of target air pollutants and meteorological parameters conducted at a suburban site (TC) and a nearby marine site (WS) from August to November 2013. The observations showed that the levels of primary air pollutants were significantly lower at WS than those at TC, while ozone (O3) value was greater at WS. Higher O3 levels at WS were attributed to the weaker NO titration and higher O3 production rate because of stronger oxidative capacity of the atmosphere. However, O3 episodes were concurrently observed at both sites under certain meteorological conditions, such as tropical cyclones, continental anticyclones and sea-land breezes (SLBs). Driven by these synoptic systems and mesoscale recirculations, the interaction between continental and marine air masses had profoundly changed the atmospheric composition and subsequently influenced the formation and redistribution of O3 in the coastal areas. When continental air intruded into marine atmosphere, the O3 pollution was magnified over SCS, and the elevated O3 (> 100 ppbv) could overspread the sea boundary layer ~ 8 times the area of Hong Kong. In some cases, the exaggerated O3 pollution over the SCS was re-circulated to the coastal inshore by sea breeze, leading to even aggravating O3 pollution in coastal cities. The findings are applicable to similar mesoscale environments around the world where the maritime atmosphere is potentially influenced by severe continental air pollution.

Five-day means show that over south China there are certain persistent variations in the march of rainfall during the wet season (March–November). These are explained in terms of seasonal meteorological trends in the surrounding regions. The view is advanced, supported by an ancient Chinese farmers' calendar, that the rainfall pattern of south China has changed little in the past 2000 years.

The evaluation of energy savings in the area of transport infrastructure entails a complex characterization of factors, attitudes and consequences. In the frame of energy saving approach, must be identified sustainable alternatives and solutions for road asphalt pavements production and exploitation. Finding innovative materials is one major objective in this process. In the present paper has been carried out an evaluation of the energetically and environmental benefits of warm mix asphalt (WMA) compositions that incorporate reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and their contribution to roads sustainable development. For a proper analysis and reliable results, have been used the Life Cycle Assessment methodology and asPECT software. WMA integrating RAP are known as energy – saving and environmentally friendly asphalt roads pavements. Analyzed in a comparative perspective with hot mix asphalt (HMA) incorporating RAP, WMA would gain in results due to the decrease in mixing and compaction temperature, energy consumption and emissions but also to the increase in durability, quality and performance. The results of this comparison intended to point out an alternative that would provide an increase in the sustainability of the transport infrastructure sector.

In order to find out the loading mechanism of Fly-Ash-Flushed-by-Seawater base asphalt pavement under heavy load and verify reasonable road pavement structure, this paper analysed the road model under different axel load with ABAQUS. The influence of structural stress and the road asphalt pavement deflection in different road structural parameters were shown in the paper. The result indicates that the structural stress and the deflection under heavy load are greater than they are under the standard load. When the vehicle is over load by 100%, the tensile stress of subbase is close to the allowable tensile stress. The structure of Fly-Ash-Flushed-by-Seawater base asphalt pavement can be designed to adapt to the over load traffic of Yingkou by adjusted the structural parameter in a certain range.

Due to the use course limitation of asphalt pavement at home and abroad, research on road asphalt recycling is laid particular stress on an aging regeneration properties both in China and abroad at present, and research on multiple aging and regeneration is much less. In this paper, five heating tests of 40 min, 85 min, 180 min, 240 min, 300 min were carried on to simulate asphalt aging , and reentry another same time aging after regeneration for each aging asphalt, so reciprocating cycle five times, each group of sample use the same reclaiming agent to regenerate NO.70# road asphalt after every aging test. The experimental results show that: after aging regeneration many times, performance index of NO.70 road asphalt can return to no age level, namely the asphalt multiple recycling is completely feasible.

With the development of local economy, the increase of urban population and the poor infrastructure in old urban area cant meet the development of the modern city. Small and medium-sized city traffic problems have gradually become the negative factors which hinder and restrict the city social economy development. As viewed from Hohhot, this article mainly aims at the urban road asphalt pavement damage condition, analyses the main damage types and puts forward to the renovation and maintenance programs.

There are environmental problems such as pollutant emission in the construction and service of road asphalt pavement. In order to explore the hazards of road asphalt to the environment, the types of pollutants from the construction and use of road asphalt pavement are analyzed. The various harmful components of pavement asphalt materials and their influencing factors are discussed. The corresponding pollution inhibition measures are introduced. The existing research work of asphalt pavement pollution is analyzed and suggestions for future research are proposed.

The paper considers the problem of increasing the service life of road asphalt concrete coatings in conditions of year-round operation by road impregnating materials protection from the effects of climatic and operational factors. Objects of research are various domestic road impregnating materials. The subject of research is estimation methodology of road impregnating materials efficiency, modeling effects of the exposed asphalt during operation in the Central Federal District. The article proposes method of estimation of the impregnating materials resistance to different operational factors and consistent scheme of their impact on the object under study is proposed. We conducted comprehensive assessment of road impregnating materials and the effect of their influence on indicators of quality of asphalt concrete and proposed the mechanism of action to protect road impregnating materials.
