Maintenance is one of the important roles in the high technology manufacturing industry. It is related to the key performance factors of the company such as quality, productivity, and cost. To achieve these factors, a reliability plan should be implemented which helps to maximise production value by implementing successful asset maintenance. This research project aims to focus on the critical process equipment known as Horizontal Wet Etching Equipment (HWEE) used in the wet etching process. The components in the HWEE system were identified by referring to the process and instrumentation diagram (PID) of the equipment and were categorised in different modes. Data on mean time to repair (MTTR) and mean time between repairs (MTBF) were collected based on previous company records. The data were analysed using MAROS software. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) was done to understand the risk of each of the components. The result shows that piping and gearbox have the highest RPN with 126 and 105, respectively. This study helps to identify critical components and is able to help the company to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance cost. Corrective action can be implemented to reduce the RPN for both components. Thus, it would help the industry to increase the key performance and become more competitive in the business environment.

The Savannah River Site (SRS) spring-operated relief valve (SORV) maintenance intervals were evaluated using the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) inspection updating approach in API RP 581 for Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) technology. In addition, the impact of extending the inspection schedule was evaluated using Monte Carlo simulation (MCS). The API RP 581 approach is characterized as a Weibull analysis with modified Bayesian updating. Initial Weibull parameter estimates were updated using SRS’s historical proof test records contained in the Center for Chemical Process Safety Process Equipment Reliability Database. The API RP 581 methodology was used to estimate the SORV’s probability of failing on demand and the annual expected risk. An illustration of the inspection costs versus the associated risks is provided. Current practices are reviewed, and recommendations are made for extending maintenance intervals. A cost-effective maintenance frequency balancing both financial risk and inspection cost is demonstrated.

Выполнен анализ надежности технологического оборудования в составе гибкого трубопровода рукавного типа, а также проанализированы условия его функционирования в системе передачи нефти с необорудованного морского побережья в танкеры. Характеристики надежности оборудования выражаются через интенсивность отказов и длительность цикла транспортировки нефти. Количественным показателем надежности рассматриваемой системы принят технический риск. При частоте негативных событий от 10-2 до 10-4в год риск считается маловероятным, но может сопровождаться серьезными последствиями – в пределе – катастрофическими. Более точную оценку риска выполнить невозможно из-за неопределенности информации о временном цикле и характере реальных нагрузок на элементы системы. Проведена оценка воздействия поражающих факторов при авариях временных трубопроводов рукавного типа, развертываемых на необорудованном морском побережье. Выполнен прогноз величин потенциального и индивидуального пожарных рисков. Приведено обоснование их допустимого увеличения в соответствии с требованиями Федерального закона «О пожарной безопасности». The reliability analysis of process equipment as part of a flexible hose-type pipeline has been carried out, and the conditions of its functioning in the system of transferring oil from the unequipped sea coast to tankers have been analyzed. Equipment reliability characteristics are expressed in terms of the failure rate and duration of the oil transportation cycle. The technical risk is taken as a quantitative indicator of the reliability of the system in question. With a frequency of negative events of 10-2 to 10-4 per year, the risk is considered unlikely, but can be accompanied by serious consequences - in the limit - catastrophic ones. A more accurate risk assessment cannot be performed due to the uncertainty of information about the time cycle and the nature of the real loads on the system elements. The assessment of an impact of damaging factors in accidents with temporary hose-type pipelines deployed on an unequipped sea coast has been performed. The forecast of values of potential and individual fire risks has been made. The substantiation of their permissible increase in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Law "On Fire Safety" is given.

In this paper, the theory of process failure as the basis for analysis of working conditions based on the use of production line process equipment. In ANSYS static strength theory, technology and equipment to analyze the static strength, find the weak points of equipment. For weak points and system reliability and lifetime prediction, and establish the reliability of the system platform to guide the process equipment and tooling security monitoring, to provide a scientific basis for the use of tooling and equipment reliability.
