Nowadays, Japanese manufacturers are deploying global production based on the concept of "uniform quality worldwide and production at optimum locations". In an effort to realize this, the authors have proposed Advanced TPS, and recognized the necessity of "the creation of a new, human-centered production mechanism". Furthermore, the authors have also proposed "HI-POS". In this paper, an implementation method of "HI-POS", the "HDP" method has been established, enabling a total linkage from designing to manufacturing through a digital pipeline. More specifically, it is (1) a digital production system which prepares the work procedure in advance, and also it is (2) a production system which verifies a line process setup in advance. This accommodates the production planning needed for manufacturing a number of models on one line and completes the building up of the line even before launching it. The authors have been studying the validity of this method at an advanced manufacturing corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation. The use of this method has enhanced the skill level of production operators and thus yielded the expected results.

Abstract The issue of static load arises as a result of the optimization of activities and the natural development of industry towards digitization, implementation of technologies in the production process and elimination of manual work. Due to the inherent need to facilitate or completely replace manual work with machines, human activity focuses on the development, design, and management of these machines. This article presents the results of a survey of the representation of professions with the primary seated position in the selected industrial enterprise in comparison with the most frequently registered professions in specific sectors. Likewise, the authors also deal with the elimination of static loads arising from the performance of sedentary work through ergonomic chairs offered on the Slovak market. The paper presents the results of the market analysis focusing on the parameters of office chairs, which are marked as ergonomic or health. The findings of these surveys serve as one of the starting points for the design of a complex dynamic office workplace, which the authors deal with in research at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Zilina.

Production planning is increasingly performed by the application of simulation software in order to reduce costs and time. But many users use this kind of software just occasionally. Due to this low level of usage, there is a great demand in support. For those software packages, useful and efficient support tools were not implemented until now. Based on surveys realized in some companies in the European project DREAM three different concepts of user support are suggested.

This article analyzes how creativity in the making of films and TV shows is constrained as a consequence of the shift to digital production technology, and the resulting change in work activities for different crafts involved in the postproduction process. We adapt the concept of creative spaces in order to describe these constraints, and we introduce the term audiovisual assemblies to facilitate the analysis of collaboration. We argue that this study is well-accomplished by analyzing collections of existing media productions. We identify two contradicting practices: first, the development of new conventions which reallocate roles and resources in the making of audiovisual assemblies; and second, the high rate and broad range of incremental technological change which demand unconventional, but creative, problem-solving practices from everyone involved. Examples are provided from an innovative Swedish TV production.

Purpose. The paper deals with the problem of decision-making support for digital production planning. Methodology. The formalization of the subject area (ontology) is developed on the basis of the approach used in production and operational management, in particular, for the possible planning of digital production in back-office industries and construction. Findings. Main stages of digital production planning are identified such as optimization for the placement (choice of place) of production, optimal selection of suppliers of resources, optimization of storage of resources and delivery to the place of production. The analysis of the stages for organization and production planning currently is poorly represented in existing software solutions as a set of several cloud services. Originality/value. Taking into account the conditions for the modern stage of development of technologies for the digital production we can identify the key requirements for the functionality and use of the software platform. The architecture of a digital cloud platform and its functional modules has been developed for the planning of digital production. It is a decentralized platform as a public network, consisting of independent software modules (cloud services) connected to a tool with an expandable number of modules. The tool consists of a unit for the organization and planning of production processes and the block of the modules that accompanies implementation of process of production activity. Currently, a number of modules of the system have been developed and experimentally tested. Now we are developing the full-featured tool.
