Mobile devices are changing the way people work and communicate. Most of the innovative devices offer the opportunity to integrate augmented reality in mobile applications, permitting the combination of the real world with virtual information. This feature can be particularly useful to enhance informal and formal didactic actions based on student collaboration. This paper describes a “collaborative campus”, originated in the physical architectural space, but exposing learning contents and social information structured as augmented virtual areas. ACCampus, a mobile augmented reality system, supporting the sharing of contextualized information is proposed. This system combines the world perceived by the phone camera with information concerning student location and community, enabling users to share multimedia information in location-based content areas. User localization is initially detected through QR codes. The successive positions of the user are determined using the mobile device sensors. Each augmented area is univocally spatially associated to a representative real wall area. Selective content sharing and collaboration are supported, enabling a user to distribute his/her augmented contents to specific users or groups. An evaluation of the proposed environment is also conducted, which considers that learning in collaborative environments is related to perceived member contribution, enjoinment, motivation, and student participation.

Social Network is an emerging e-service for Content Sharing Sites (CSS). It is an emerging service which provides reliable communication. Some users over CSS affect user’s privacy on their personal contents, where some users keep on sending annoying comments and messages by taking advantage of the user’s inherent trust in their relationship network. Integration of multiple user’s privacy preferences is very difficult task, because privacy preferences may create conflict. The techniques to resolve conflicts are essentially required. Moreover, these methods need to consider how users would actually reach an agreement about a solution to the conflict in order to offer solutions acceptable by all of the concerned users. The first mechanism to resolve conflicts for multi-party privacy management in social media that is able to adapt to different situations by displaying the enterprises that users make to reach a result to the conflicts. Billions of items that are uploaded to social media are co-owned by multiple users. Only the user that uploads the item is allowed to set its privacy settings (i.e. who can access the item). This is a critical problem as users’ privacy preferences for co-owned items can conflict. Multi-party privacy management is therefore of crucial importance for users to appropriately reserve their privacy in social media.

YouTube is one of the most utilised online content sharing sites, enabling commercial enterprise, education opportunities, and facilities for vernacular creativity. Its user engagement demonstrates online community development; alongside its use as a distribution platform to monetise one’s branded self. However, as a subset of Alphabet Incorporated, its access is often restricted by governments of Asian Pacific countries. This research describes how countries that have banned YouTube still have exceptionally strong online communities, bringing into question the sorts of augmentations used by its participants. This article focuses on digital intermediation strategies, specifically the DIY approach of community building through the use of unseen infrastructures. This comparative study of YouTube channels in several Asia Pacific countries highlights the techniques that bypass limiting infrastructures to boost online community activity. The results demonstrate digital intermediation provides unique opportunities for key agents to contribute to strengthening social imaginaries within the Asia Pacific region.
