The text proposes an interpretation of the reference framework and the framing procedure in philosophy through the construction of the context of references. The essential question addresses the type of conditions associated with the practice of a given philosophy. The basic conditions connected with the tradition, the scope of reflection and the interpretative method used have been analyzed in the work. The examples of positive and negative framing have been presented in the first group of conditions. The possibility of a neutral framing has been discussed on the basis of the concept of no-assumption philosophy. In the second group, the attention has been paid to the cultural framework and the worldview / ideological framework related to the practice of philosophy. Finally, the analysis of the frameworks for the methods used in philosophy has been carried out on the example of such attitudes as anything goes and philosophia perennis. The legitimacy of in-depth reflection on framing also in the construction of a philosophical statement has been stated in the conclusions.

Development process of any other field is not a quick one. It may come across steps throughout the history. When we compare the European region with the Asian region the situational processes they came across have similarities and differences. Germany is the birthplace of many psychological schools in which Sri Lanka still have some shadow of those schools and keep continuing some parts of psychology adapted from this society. Nevertheless, there are some trends of having own psychological practices affirming the cross-cultural framework. Sri Lankan universities are now trying to give a proper place for Psychology but still the tendency is not adequate compared to the placement given into other disciplines.

The study uses a qualitative case study framed within a socio-cultural framework to investigate Vietnamese English language university teachers’ difficulties in their research engagement. The study was conducted among 21 English language university teachers in Hong Duc University in Vietnam. Skype semi-structured interview was employed to collect necessary data to explore teacher participants’ perceived obstacles to research. The findings of the study show that there was a gap between Vietnamese authorities’ expectations of research outputs and the realities of English language university teachers’ research capabilities. Such gap has caused serious challenges to those teachers and prevented them from effectively engaging in research. On the one hand, Vietnamese authorities hope to increase universities’ research output to keep up with the international academic ranking. On the other hand, the working realities of university teachers hinder their engagement in research. However, no official investigation has been done to reduce such gap and the enforcement of research activity in universities has been taken for granted. In this sense, the significance of this study is an opportunity for English language university teachers to voice their opinions about the enforced nature of research activity in universities in Vietnam.

With regard to the approach, the qualitative approach was adopted, aiming at a more in-depth analysis of the categories listed, namely: interdisciplinarity, ethnoscience, multidisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, highlighted in the respective topics of this article. In the spring of 1468, a special jeu – probably taking the form of a theatrical representation in verse – was mounted in the courtyard of the Dominican convent of Metz. This performance portrayed the life of Saint Catherine of Siena, the charismatic urban visionary and reformer who had been canonised just seven years before. Two living women shaped the play, however, both of them also called Catherine: an actor who played the saint, and a patron who sponsored the performance. This event and its female creators point to a richness of female practice in contrast with the old stereotype of the “all-male stage”. This first section thus introduces the historical Catherines who anchor the book as well as the performance methodology used to access their hidden lives and activities beyond the play. It integrates theories of bodily performance with new approaches to patronage, personal devotion, and drama; this enables a broader picture of women’s contributions to late-medieval public life and urban culture. Women’s lives must be studied within a wider social and cultural framework to uncover the full scope of public performance that the Catherines and other women engaged in.
