Car sharing systems emerged as a new answer to mobility challenges in smart and sustainable cities. Despite their apparent success, design and exploitation of such systems raise crucial strategic and operational challenges. To help planners and decision makers, simulation, analysis and optimization models are unavoidable. Based on the formal modelling and analysis power of stochastic Petri nets, this paper proposes a discrete event simulation model for electric car sharing systems for performance and analysis purposes, taking into account their complex dynamic behaviour, organization and parameters including capacities of the stations, battery and energy availability, locations of charging stations and also their car maintenance activities, not negligible compared to the case of bike-sharing systems.

In this paper, one on-board charger in the charging station will be used to test its charging process. We screen the data which has the typical characteristics of power parameters from test data, and compared with the national power quality standards. We can get the following conclusions: (1) The electric car battery is capacitive load, it may transfer the reactive power to grid in the process of charging;(2) The test data imply that frequency deviation, power factor and VTHD e.g. indexes are qualified;(3) On-board charger is mainly produced the odd harmonics in the process of charging, with the increase of harmonic frequency, harmonic contain lower rate;(4) In practice, harmonic mainly reflects on the current, voltage only has a small distortion.

The subject of this paper is an experimental analysis of a Nissan LEAF electric car equipped with 24 kWh battery, powered from the standalone photo-voltaic (PV) charging station in Gdańsk, Poland. The calculations of charging process efficiency and range of test drives were conducted in two extreme situations (winter and summer) of sunlight and road conditions. Experiments were performed in the Laboratory of Innovative Power Technologies and Integration of Innovative Energy Sources (LINTE^2) at Gdańsk University of Technology. The car was night-charged with the stationary electrochemical battery, which, in turn, was powered with PV panels during the day. The impact of sunlight and ambient temperature changes on daily urban and highway drive ranges was analysed. The efficiency of energy conversion in multiple current converters was determined.
