In order to study the problems existing in higher mathematics teaching under the background of "curriculum ideology and politics", through a questionnaire survey of college students to investigate and analyze the teaching situation of the integration of "curriculum ideology and politics" into higher mathematics courses, 114 valid questionnaires were collected and used. Comprehensive analysis and interactive analysis are carried out in-depth analysis, and it is concluded that it is better to adopt a diversified teaching method and combine advanced mathematics knowledge cases to intersperse the "curriculum ideological and political" teaching method. The "curriculum ideological and political" elements should pay attention to the integration of mathematical culture and mathematics grandmaster. Finally, some suggestions on how to integrate "curriculum ideology and politics" into higher mathematics courses are put forward.

The construction of emerging engineering education puts forward new requirements for talent training. College mathematics, as a core curriculum in the university's basic curriculum, plays a vital role in talent training for emerging engineering. However, the current mathematics teaching emphasizes theory but neglects practice. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a teaching method based on a combination of case-studying of emerging engineering applications and student-centered teaching paradigm reform. Furthermore, this paper gave a specific example of instructional design based on image processing.

The Search for the perfect teaching method has persisted for many years, In the meantime, many effective strategies have been identified. A strategy is defined, here, as a plan of relatively structured procedures by which specific objectives are achieved. Although many plans have been developed, no one strategy has been shown effective under all conditions. The most promising direction toward effective mathematics teaching at this time appears to be the use of a variety of strategies tailored to the objectives of the lesson and student needs at the time of instruction.

With the aid of big data technology, this paper enumerates the existing problems of college mathematics teaching, and designs a big data-based method for mathematics teaching among college students. The student-centered design method highlights the evaluation of learning effects, making both teaching and learning more efficient. The method was applied to the teaching reform in an actual college and achieved good results. The research findings shed new light on the mathematics teaching and learning in colleges.

The article begins with a brief overview of the situation throughout the world regarding problem solving. The activities of the ProMath group are then described, as the purpose of this international research group is to improve mathematics teaching in school. One mathematics teaching method that seems to be functioning in school is the use of open problems(i.e., problem fields). Next we discuss the objectives of the Finnish curriculum that are connected with problem solving. Some examples and research results are taken from a Finnish–Chilean research project that monitors the development of problem-solving skills in third grade pupils. Finally, some ideas on “teacher change” are put forward. It is not possible to change teachers, but only to provide hints for possible change routes: the teachers themselves should work out the ideas and their implementation.
