To enhance the safety of pedestrians crossing the street, a series of new regulations regarding pedestrian yield has been proposed and widely implemented across cities. In this study, we first made some improvements to the social force model, in which pedestrian crossing at the intersection, drivers’ psychology of giving way, vehicle yield to pedestrians, vehicle yield in different directions, the influence of pedestrians crossing boundaries, and signal lamp groups on pedestrian behavior were considered. Furthermore, pedestrian crossing and vehicle yield safety models were established, based on which the comprehensive safety evaluation model of intersections in arterials was established, in which two indices—(1) the safety degree of pedestrian crossings and (2) vehicle acceleration interference—were combined with the entropy weight method. Finally, four types of intersections in arterials were studied using a simulation: the intersections between different levels of arterials, and intersections with one-time and two-times pedestrian crossings. Moreover, safety evaluation and analysis of those intersections, considering the rule of pedestrian yield, were conducted combined with the trajectory data from the VISSIM simulation. The relevant results showed that for pedestrians crossing the street, the pedestrian safety of two-time crossing is significantly higher than that of one-time crossing, and compared with the arterial, the pedestrian crossing distance of the sub-arterial is shorter, and the pedestrian perception is safer. Moreover, due to the herd psychology effect, the increase in pedestrian flow volume improves the safety perception of pedestrians at the intersection.

Gas safety evaluation has always been vital for coal mine safety management. To enhance the accuracy of coal mine gas safety evaluation results, a new gas safety evaluation model is proposed based on the adaptive weighted least squares support vector machine (AWLS-SVM) and improved Dempster–Shafer (D-S) evidence theory. The AWLS-SVM is used to calculate the sensor value at the evaluation time, and the D-S evidence theory is used to evaluate the safety status. First, the sensor data of gas concentration, wind speed, dust, and temperature were obtained from the coal mine safety monitoring system, and the prediction results of sensor data are obtained using the AWLS-SVM; hence, the prediction results would be the input of the evaluation model. Second, because the basic probability assignment (BPA) function is the basis of D-S evidence theory calculation, the BPA function of each sensor is determined using the posterior probability modeling method, and the similarity is introduced for optimization. Then, regarding the problem of fusion failure in D-S evidence theory when fusing high-conflict evidence, using the idea of assigning weights, the importance of each evidence is allocated to weaken the effect of conflicting evidence on the evaluation results. To prevent the loss of the effective information of the original evidence followed by modifying the evidence source, a conflict allocation coefficient is introduced based on fusion rules. Ultimately, taking Qing Gang Ping coal mine located in Shaanxi province as the study area, a gas safety evaluation example analysis is performed for the assessment model developed in this paper. The results indicate that the similarity measures can effectively eliminate high-conflict evidence sources. Moreover, the accuracy of D-S evidence theory based on enhanced fusion rules is improved compared to the D-S evidence theory in terms of the modified evidence sources and the original D-S evidence theory. Since more sensors are fused, the evaluation results have higher accuracy. Furthermore, the multisensor data evaluation results are enhanced compared to the single sensor evaluation outcomes.

The internal structure of the road safety system is extremely complex and it is affected by a lot of factors, each factor weights can not be fully established. In this article, we expressed the attribute value with a fuzzy interval number, the comprehensive appraise to the impact of traffic safety with emphasis on "people", "car" "road" in the "road". First of all, establishing evaluation index system, and form the judging matrix by AHP; then, it can be acquired a method of traffic safety evaluation by using the comprehensive evaluation model of the fuzzy interval.

Traffic safety has characteristics of long-term and arduous, and continued safety is the essential goal of safety, the continued safety of Yangtze River shipping is not only an important part of Yangtze River safety culture, but also a concrete manifestation of long-term safety mechanism. This paper analyzes the affecting factors of the Yangtze River shipping safety, from the perspective of sustainable safety, extract with operational index of safety evaluation, construct of the Yangtze River shipping safety evaluation model, combined with the improved analytic hierarchy process , estimates the main aspects that affects the continued safety of the Yangtze River shipping , and the research results can provide scientific basis for the long-term management of Yangtze River shipping safety.
